Trazodone Hydrochloride side effects

I was given a prescription for Trazodone four days ago beginning with a 150mg dose. I have a very long history of getting by on three to four hours of sleep and was constantly tired. That first dose really knocked me for a loop the next morning. When I first stood up after the alarm went off I was spacey, groggy, unsteady on my feet, joint pain in my knees and hips, and slight pain in the muscles of my legs. It was a full three hours before I felt somewhat better although I felt unsteady on my feet and when I walked, I walked as though I had a hangover. I decided to only take 75mg tab the second night. I slept twelve hours. When I awoke the above mentioned symptoms were still there but were much, much lest in intensity. The third night I took 50 mg. I slept nine hours and when I awoke the symptom were really minimal and felt quite normal after an hour or so.

I've only taken Trazoodone on rare occasion, I'v ehad terrible nightmares. That's why I am so leary to tak ethe drug, it's my last resort. I would take Restoril instead.

I've been taking Trazodone for 4 yrs, it helps my neck muscles relax during the night, and also helps me sleep. I have FM (fibromyalgia). My chief side effect is E.D. I thought it was the Traz but in looking thru all your reports of side effects I don't see one mention. I used to enjoy sex w/ my wife (she LOVES to make love!) but now, not only can't 'get it up' but don't even think about sex, EVER. I'm a 50-yr-old male, and this is kind of scary. Michael Douglass' wife could walk by in a bikini, and my remark would be, "How 'bout them Cubs?" Anybody have a similar experience?

The doctor gave me Trazodone to sleep at night. I was going through a bad time taking care of my dieing husband, working full time and taking care of the kids.
It gave me severe nightmares, ones that were so real that it was like they were in 3-D. Its hard to explain. I started to hate going to bed at night.
Then I got smart and quit taking the stuff.

I've recently been prescribed 150 mls per night , since taking them I've become extremely bad tempered , moody, snappy, crying , everyone is on the receiving end
i feel i cant take anymore

Another thing, I have to take them with food

I fall asleep fast but I get these tingly weird sensations in my legs when I lay down, and when I get up in the morning I feel really nauseated.

Trazodone was probably the most effective anti-depressant I was ever prescribed. Since I ceased taking Trazodone Hydrochloride I have gained weight. I'd been taking the anti-depressant for about 6 years; before Trazodone I was taking Seroxat and before that Prozac. I no longer take anti-depressants. I have been off Trazodone for 3 months now and I've seen a gradual rise in my weight and I am now about 6 kilos heavier than I was in August. I am a male of 52 years.

I was in terrible pain for the next 12 or so hours. I started losing my hair, especially at the bang area. My eyelashes almost disappeared. I became extremely depressed because of these side effects. My migraines became more often and more intense. I have not taken it in about a month and I have noticed my eyelashes are coming back. Could be a coincidence, but I don't think so. I guess it will take longer for me to notice my hair coming back.

I have been taking los dose (50mg) Trazodone as a sleep aide for about 3 months. Since the first week I have had horrible headaches, worse than any migraine I've ever had. These headaches are always one sided and cause hearing problems for the duration of the headache. Nothing,and i do mean NOTHING will stop these headaches except percocet. My Dr is having me do an MRI just to be sure theres nothing wrong in my head, but I honestly think its the Trazodone.

Trazodone helps me sleep; however I find if the dosage is too high I wake up with a sinus headache in the morning. I have also gained some weight - although I am not sure it is a side effect of trazodone - could be thyroid issues.

I take 50 mgs of trazodone at bedtime for sleep and some nights I have restless legs they just feel like I need to jerk them. Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

im just starting to take trazodone. i am 30 .i am not depressed, and do not think about death....but i do not sleep. since ive started this med i find myself still awake alert and thinking where i was told it would help stop that! so i guess ill just have to wait and c if it changes

I took it for a while 2 years ago because I was depressed from using drugs. I was anxious and severly depressed. I would get hot sensations all over my head and my ears would turn bright red and have a burning sensation I also couldn't get an erection and my penis felt tinngly. But the first night I starte the trazodone I was able to fall asleep and I had an erection for about 20min. that kinda scared me. I was on I for a few months and I think it worked very well. Side effects included sleepiness, dizziness(not that bad just when I would walk down a flight of staris), very tired or druged feeling in the morning(goes away after an hour or so). Over all I thought that I would never be the same but I think the Traz. had really helped. Now that I'm off I pretty much feel like the same old me except for the drug promblem. I don't think I had any bad sideffects coming off except for a little bit of dizziness.

i take 200mg of trazodone at bed time they put me to sleep and keep me sleep i'm tired when i get up in the morng .but during the day i loose my balence and the only way i can discibe it is i get brain shocks.

Does Trazadone cause severe hairloss.

my doctor just prescribed me with 50 mg of trazodone (once before bed), and 2mg Ativan as needed. I took an Ativan 3 hrs before my Trazodone. 3 hours after trazedone (12am), I went (waddled) to be and had my first good nights sleep in years. The problem was I had slept until 1pm. My husband tried to wake me up, but I guess I was a log. I am taking these for Anxiety/Panic attacks.I don't want to sleep my life away..should I switch to Paxil or something? My headaches are deep and i never get headaches. This is the second time taking them.

hello my 5 year old son is on trazodone, he has been on it 4 3 years and it does not work. I give it to him at 9:00 at night and he is up again at 1:00 in the morning so it does not help him at all . he hoes to at 7:30 and it is hard for him to cause he has no sleep at all.

hey...i take 50mg of trazodone...i am only 15 and it makes me feel tired but doesnt knock me out until i lay down...a couple nights ago i took it at 12 and i was still up till 4 but i was extremly tired and had to go to the bathroom...so i stood up from my bed and felt my self get extremely light... i started 2 walk and i know my door was shut but i woke up on the floor and the door was open...i am gettin very light headed during the day and i kant eat...but i also take 15mg aderol...wut should i do? i dont want to take either of the pills...

I take 150 mg at night, but taking along, it makes me have terrible immobile nightmares. I take 2 mg of Ativan along with it at night to mellow the trazadone out. Both of them together makes me sleep like a log, by itself, I just can't take.

Slept good at night but was deeply depressed during the day.

since I have a history of depression did'nt think it was the drug, but a strange thing happened. I went up on the roof of a 2 story bldg to fix the tv antenna and when I looked down I wanted to jump off. I thought I was going crazy...I really think the drug caused this. It's normal for me to think about death and such..many depressed people do...but I have never tried to kill myself.

I took trazadone in july of 2001. I took approx. 50mg for 4 months. After that point, I began to have some serious rage and feeling out of control from the medicine.

I should note that I am extremely sensitive to medicine so the medicine built up in my system for way too long.

Does trazodone cause weight gain?

some days i feel good, but then some i feel like im not here or just feel really wierd its a feeling i cant really explain.

rash on stomach area after last dose 48 hrs ago, is that possible?

took at 6p.m. one nite, next day whole day, i couldn't concentrate on anything.

It made me extremely hungry, so I ate a lot and then I got tired, I guess. I didn't feel drowsy or anything, i just didn't feel like doing anything active anymore. Went to sleep and slept for 14 hours. This was off of 100mg.

made me try to kill my self. was in a bad mood all the time

Man this pill in the 100mg form is hard to handle i took 4 and i was in another world. my house could have burned to the ground and it whould have been ok man these things rock!!!

what about when you have been taking it too long like 5 years plus and it just doesn't seem to work as well or be as effective for sleeping

well no you will not die i took 30 and hear i am , i felt happy for a while then real tired and dizy spacy

makes me sleep well and i feel fine in the am.Iwas concerned if there was any medical problems from taking it?

diahrrea, grogginess the next morning, felling spacy, nausea

I want to find out if you drink a lot of these pills will Idie...
