The only thing that I have experienced with Tricor is passing gas. And I don't mean now and then, I am talking about the competitive level for some farting contest.
But does it do what it is supposed to? So far, nope.....But then beside the 145mg Tricor I am also on Zocor 40 mg and even with that combo, I am still over 300 Cholesterol, Triglycerides at 1200+.
This is kind of a last ditch effort as I have been on all of the strong Cholesterol drugs. Doctors have been alarmed at my 535 cholesterol level and the 3265 triglycerides - as for HDL/LDL who knows where thats at.
Now, everyone say WOW! then I tell you I have been like this for over 15 years. From Omega3, to extreme high doses of Niacin (the kind that makes you flushed badly), Lipitor, Crestor, and others with some that I took multiple pills - Nothing touches me. (Now 9 different drugs and nothing)
Sugar levels under 120 avg., BP 120/72 or less. As for Muscles, no problem. My only real complaint is the farts 24/7. Yes, even in my sleep.

Hello,
After taking it for 3 weeks,.....
I feel fatigue, my midsection and sides feel funny (but don't hurt) and I also feel kind of loopy. I think I will give it a few more days. If I still feel the same, I will talk to my doctor or stop taking this medicine

Started Tricor about 6 weeks ago. After 2 weeks I starting feeling the effects like I did after a week on Lipitor. Doc said if this happens take a pill (48 mg) every other day. Like I fool, I listened to her, and not my body. The pain in my quads, pelvis, and back are unbearable. I stopped taking this demon seed two weeks ago, and still no change. I work out 4 days a week with a personal trainer, so I know I didn't hurt myself, it can only be the Tricor. Natural childbirth is less painful than what I am feeling. Does any one know if this is fat soluble and how long it take before the effects diminish? Percacet and 800 mg ibuprofen don't even touch the pain.

My husband has been taking TriCor 145 for app. 1 year. He is a marathon runner with no history of heart or other health problems. When his doctor first prescribed TriCor, my husband was asymptomatic. His doctor prescribed TriCor to help raise his good cholesterol levels after a brief attempt to correct HDL levels through diet and exercise. Recently, he was hospitalized for three days due to high blood pressure (136/100--no previous problems with blood pressure) and slow heart rate of 37 BPM. His primary care physician has failed to return numerous calls to discuss titrating him off TriCor so he will discontinue use on his own.

I started taking Tricor (145mg) in Dec 07 to help lower my triglycerides. I experienced some low grade nausea and stomach upset periodically. At the beginning of Feb 08 (about six weeks after starting the drug) I had a severe gallbladder attack. I NEVER had an issue with my gallbladder before taking this drug. I checked another website and found out that this drug can cause gallstones and liver malfunction. I ended up having to have my gallbladder removed in mid February due to multiple gallstones and persistent pain in the liver. There was still a stone caught in my liver even after the gallbladder was removed. This caused jaundice and resulted in a five day hospital stay before the stone was found and removed.
I would advise SEVERE CAUTION before taking this drug.

I was put on Tricor and it was a disaster. Goal was to lower LDL and I had already had negative results with Zocor (neuropathy). After a a couple of weeks I developed low back pain (near the kidneys), followed by excessive urination and related pain. Also right hip pain. I went off the drug and still had ongoing pain in my right hip and groin. Low back pain, knee pain and neuropathy in my feet. I'm a type 2 diabetic in good control and had bypass surgery so they wanted my LDL cholesterol lower than the 73 I achieved with diet alone.
I also experienced foot drop in right ankle with no strength in heel/ankle and neuropathy in both sides of my ankle. Three weeks after going off the drug I am just now recovering but continue to have hip pain, low back pain, 50% less strength in ankle. Also groin and testicle pain. I subsequently read that being on a blood thinner like Warfarin may be contraindicated which my Cardiologist did not mention.

I am on Lipantil (Fenofibrate) 267MG and Ezetrol (Ezetimibe) 10MG.
I was on a 20MG statin but changed to the above because it didn't agree with me.
Has anyone noticed a tendency to suntan more easily?
I look like I have been under a sunlamp, my face being noticeably browner than the rest of me yet I have not spent a lot of time in direct sunlight.
I believe the Fenofibrate may be the cause of greater photosensitivity.
Should I worry or just be pleased I look browner?
Anyone else noticed this effect?

I too have been on tri-cor for about 2 weeks. For the past week severe pain in my left hip going down my left leg has woke me up from sleeping within 2 hours after I finally fall asleep! I have never had such horrible pain like this before I started this medication. I have experienced nausua, vomitting & sore throat. I'm calling my cardio doc today! I simply can not go on like this!

I started taking tri-cor early in August, for the last two weeks, it seems I've gotten every side effect, but the worse one is a choking sensation, when I try to sleep. I choke, then cough, try to sleep, choke, cough, needless to say, I cannot sleep, so I'm stopping today. I think all the drugs that are being pushed, in the media, magazines, etc. are doing more harm than good.

37 yo male, no side effects from Tricor after a year of use. Possibly headaches associated with Tricor however the headaches could be from stress as well. No way to tell unless the stress ends.

I have been taking fenofibrate for 2 months and have general lack of energy and lack of decisive brain thoughts. It would take me a long while to organise my way out of a paper bag! I also have low thyroid function but am on medication for that and only started feeling hazy when I had been on the Fenofibrate for a while. Does anyone else feel that their brain is ticking over only at half pace???
My fenofibrate is 160mg and sold in Australia as LIPIDIL

I have been taking TriCor, 145 mg., for one week. Today I am experiencing pain in my stomach and feeling very tired. It is a buring pain and at times I feel nauseated. Is this the result of the TriCor and may I be on too high of a dose?

Took Tri-Cor for 4 or 5 weeks and developed very weak knees. Doctor took me off and it went away in 4 or 5 weeks. However, it now has come back. Never had weak knees before. Currently, he is evaluating my blood. Won't know results until January '03.
