I love this pain reliever. I've had no ill effects and many positive side-effects such as mood improvement. This side effect lasts even after the pain relief is gone; in my case it's up to 10 hours. Can't say enough how much I love it!

I have had moderate to severe pain in my hip due to joint deformity and subsequent deterioration and arthritis. I am unable to take even one dose of any NSAIDs as they cause stomach bleeding. Ten months ago a doctor prescribed Ultracet for me and it has provided tremendous pain relief for me. However, one of the side effects that I first noticed was it aggravated neck pain that I had from a couple of degenerated disks. I couldn't figure that out until a few months later when I read the Ultracet could cause muscle tightness. That explained that, and that finally subsided in the last few months. I had some of the side effects others described the first couple of days but then they subsided. I find that if I stick with just one tablet nstead of the two prescribed, I don't have all of the central nervous system reaction that some describe...nerve twitching, itching, sleeplessness and agitation, but if I take 2 at a time, I have all of the above. I always take one in the morning and usually don't have to take another the rest of the day unless I overdo. Sometimes I will need to take more doses but I take it knowing that I will be itching and agitated. I have had a couple of doctors since that have had bad experiences with Ultracet personally, and they always try to switch me to a narcotic. I have not had any decrease in effectiveness or increased need or dependency, but I also figure that if I only take my one in the morning on a normal basis, and only supplement as needed, I won't have problems with addiction.

I have had surgery on my elbow for a bone spur and tendon repair, I have a tremendous amount of pain and am not aloud to use my arm for anything for almost 6 to 8 weeks, no lifting, no pullin. no pushing only some writting and am only able to lift the wieght of a coffee cup. This has been very frustrating to me, I have been on vicodin and percacets for almost three weeks and now started Ultracet cause it is "non-narcotic" I am so far having no pain relief and no side affects, all this stuff on this page has actually scarred me but I don't know where all these symptoms are coming from I sure hope it kills the pain in time but this first dose has done nothing for me

No side effects yet (have just begun treatment) and no pain relief yet for severe arthritis in both wrists. I was taking Vioxx successfully with NO side effects and full pain relief. Then switched to Celebrex with almost full pain relief but NO side effects. Ultracet doesn't come close at this point. I'm not able to take naproxen in any form as it destroys my stomach (I'm prone to ulcers). I'm also taking Tylenol Arthritis formula. If Ultracet doesn't begin working soon -- or if Vioxx doesn't come back on the market I think I will have to shoot myself to put me out of my misery. I'm in unbearable pain!!!!

I have had the worst diahrrea with ultracet. It is a wonder I haven't accidently killed myself with this. I'd get the diahrrea and take an OTC remedy for it while not realizing the diahrrea was from the ultracet. I'd sleep for about 3 hours at a time, wake up for 30 minutes, and struggle to go back to sleep. I was wondering why it did nothing for my pain and then found out it is an opiate derivative. I'm one of those not susceptible to opiates for pain relief. However, when given an opiate I do hallucinate. No wonder I was seeing spiders. I'm going to ride out the withdrawal and see what happens. Wish me luck.

I love Ultracet!!! I have degenerative disc disease and a lumbar herniated disc, but have been resistant to taking pain meds due to the risk of addiction and also due to the adverse cognitive side effects. I do not feel sluggish or "fuzzy" and can perform my job without impairment-not to mention the pain relief! However, I do feel a bit hyper and euthymic, but for me that is a bonus!

I am taking Ultracet for neck pain. Have taken one tablet a day in the evening when I am most uncomfortable. After taking Ultracet for three days now I find it relieves the pain rather quickly. It does seem to make me quite sleepy. However, pain relief is most important. I will continue to take Ultracet as needed. No other side effects so far.

I was given Ultracet yesterday for pain relief from carpal and cubital tunnel. The side effects were as follows: headache, chest pain with erratic heart rate (not good as I have WPWS and take medication to regulate my heart rhythm) stomach cramps and was not able sleep. My doctor wants me to take this med for the next two weeks at which time I am to have surgery on my right arm and hand. This is a contradiction to the 5 day rule. I took 2 pills over the course of 12 hours. I won't take it again and I'm calling my doctor this morning!!!
