After taking this I found it also worked in getting rid of my cough and made me drowsy, but I found I could not sleep...I was itchy like others have noted, but not tortured by it. It was the drunk like effect that really bothered me. Even when I woke up the next morning to go to class, I felt like I shouldn't drive because the world was spinning and I felt anxious.

The worst part, neither my doc or pharmacist warned me about the intensity of this drug.

Anyone else have shoulder pain and/or rib pain? Almost like a gall bladder attack? Have taken it twice and both times have had a severe pain for a short time, helps cough though..Is this just me or a common side effect? Also the itchiness..

My husband and I took this before bed and soon after we both became extremely itchy all over. Then about two hours later we became extremely dizzy and nauseas. I threw up for about 2 hours. Also broke out in sweats and fever. I could not move or open my eyes without being sick. Finally when that subsided, I began to experience shortness of breath - it felt like my throat was closing up and I could do nothing about it. It was the scariest experience I've ever been through. I would rather cough all night long then EVER go through that again. I seriously thought I was going to die! My husband called a CVS pharmacist and found that we would survive but to drink tons of water to help alleviate symptoms. Needless to say, the next morning I was still extremely dizzy and nauseas. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE!!!
