I have been on Bupropion SR for about a month now. I had severe depression stemming from past incidents that I was unable to get over on my own. I started at 150 mg once a day and the first 2 days I felt nothing. The third day I caught myself grinning and laughing! However, on the 5th day, my doctor upped it to 150 mg twice a day. After the fourth day of that I started feeling irritable and tired. After a week of it I started feeling dizzy, nausea, anxiety, shaky, and just generally weird. I went to a different doctor and told her the symptoms and she reduced me to 100 mg twice a day. The dizziness is gone but the irritability is still present although manageable if I just think before I speak. I also have lost about 5 pounds. I notice that some days I have no appetite and others I am ravenous. The worst side effect so far is the anxiety. I have never had it before and now when the least little event or conflict is present I start getting a churning feeling in my stomach and restlessness. As for insomnia, I do stay up too late but once I force myself into bed I pass right out. I get sleepy around 2:00pm which is when I take the second pill and sometimes can't stop myself from falling asleep at my computer at work. My dreams were more intense and lucid when I was on 300mg a day but they seem to have gone back to normal now.

Been on Wellbutrin for 3 weeks. Have DREAMS all the time. Lots of gas. No weight loss, but weight gain with an increasing appetite. Stopped smoking using this medication with the patch. Works wonders. A lot of energy. Insomnia really bad. The medication and side effects are not so bad, I'm dealing.

I can relate to a posting that stated the patient was having trouble distinguishing dreams from reality. I was having this problem too. Had a hard time explaining to my doctor who said that he had never heard of that side effect. It doesn't last long for me, but it's very troubling whe it occurs. I am unable to take the 150mg of Wellbutrin XL. I would prefer an extended release but it is not offered in 50mg. This means that I have to break a 100mg pill, not extended release, in two. The meds then kick in faster and drop off within about 10 hours. The drop off is also unsettling. Hope this post helps someone. Hang in there, guys. Keeping praying.

I have been taking Welbutrin for nearly 3 weeks and feel like I am seriously losing my mind. I feel like a walking zombie, numb to everything and my mind feels foggy. I can't remember things and am having a hard time diffrentiating dreams from reality. No appetite, extreme feelings of up and down, inability to concentrate, no sex drive, no ambition, crying all the time uncontrolably. I don't think I felt remotely close to this before I started taking this medication. Does this get better at 4 weeks or stays the same? I can't even remember what I was like before this. Anyone else having same symptoms?

Hi, I've been taking Wellbutrin XL for about 2 weeks. I am less tired and hungry but I am still depressed. I still cry at the drop of a hat. I have had wierd dreams, not nightmares exactly but just wierd. my knees ache and so do my shins. I hope this helps someone else. I am hoping that once the meds kick in my depression will lessen and I can live my life to the fullest.

I have been taking Wellbutrin XL for about 2 weeks. I am taking it for depression and as of yesterday still cry at the drop of a hat. I do feel less tired and less hungry. My legs ache especially my knees. I am not really sure if that is from the meds. I sometimes feel a tightening at my tempals, but no head-aches yet. I have had some wierd dreams, I wouldn't call them nightmares exactly. I am hoping that this will help with my deression and if I lose a few pounds I will be happy too. I don't know if this helps anyone but I hope it does.

After my doctor increased my Wellbutrin dose to 300mg I began to experience jaw tightness...then jaw pain on one side...then on both. It now hurts to open my mouth or chew. I was going to go to the dentist, but after reading a few posts with jaw issues mentioned, I'll go to my internist. This dose is making me feel worried and anxious, even in my sleep. My dreams reflect an anxious attempt at problem solving. Above all, I'm so tired of trying to help myself out of depression only to deal with other medical issues.

I've been on Wellbutrin for about five days and have experienced a flu-like haze, headaches, upset stomach, and at the time of this writing (it's 3am), severe insomnia. Worst of all are the dreams and waking feelings of fear I am currently experiencing. I feel like a frightened child in the dark, almost like a panic attack at times. These thoughts and fears are completely unjustified and irrational. I am not using any other drugs in my life now, including alcohol. Worst feelings of fear I've ever felt; like having a nightmare but you're awake.

Just started three weeks ago. I have lost 10 lbs already. My sleep is great. I used to dream a bunch of different ulrelated dreams every night and now I just dream one! I dont crave food or overeat at all. Weight has always been an issue for me, but I have no feeling like I want to overeat anymore. Just a normal appetite. Its also helped my ADD.

I posted a while back about some terrible hives I had. I continued to take the medication and the hives stopped. I love the way this helps with my anxiety. I do feel a bit forgetful and dreams are odd sometimes. I mentally feel better than I have in 36 years....Didn't realize how full of compulsive behaviors I was. If you get the hives take benedryl. Mine cleared up after a few days.
Oh yeah, the weight loss is subtle. I have been on it about 2 months and have lost a bit of weight but it is the complusions to eat I am free from.
