I was prescribed WB SR to offset the fatigue and sexual side effects from Paxil... For the first week I felt very speedy. Not always in a bad way - the focus and energy was great at work. Now I tend to feel more fatigued and am back on coffee. Climax still a problem but desire has increased a lot.
I do drink on it; I've been self-medicating since ending a long relationship seven months ago. However, I do feel a lot more hopeful and am looking toward the future instead of dwelling on the past.
I have had three new side effects just this week... Nausea if I take it on an empty stomach, mild constipation and SWEATING. I mean, I get DRENCHED, mostly when I eat. I was out to lunch with coworkers today and it was pretty embarassing...
That said, for now I am going to stick with it, since I am dealing with things more productively. This is a very useful forum and I appreciate everyone's posts.

I have been taking Wellbutrin 300 XL for a little over a year. My doctor had prescribed it for my persistent anxiety. In general, I felt overwhelmed by the extent of the daily duties I had imposed on myself (which was always more than I could possibly acheive). For the first few months I felt great. I was much more relaxed and focused and the only side effect I experienced was a slight ringing in the ears. But after my third or fourth month on this medication the ringing in my ears grew progressively worse and I started noticing other side effects. I began having recurrent headaches (which, at 33 years of age, I had never before experienced) as well as fatigue, achiness, dizziness, and insomnia. In the past month I have begun to experience tremors and twitching. I tend to feel as though I am jerking my head or hands when I initiate movement and my eyes twitch almost incessantly (which is extremely distracting). The ringing in my ears seems to grow louder each day and my worsening insomnia only intensifies my fatigue and achiness. I have also noticed those old feelings of being anxious and overwhelmed creeping back in. Wellbutrin seems ideal in the short run but over time its benefits begin to wear off while side effects continue to manifest and become more pronounced. My advice to anyone considering taking this drug would be to start on the lowest dose possible and maintain an awareness of the side effects as they appear.

I have been on Wellbutrin for approx. 2 weeks. I was prescribed 150 mgs of Xl per day for major depression which I take before going to sleep. I have had some odd but not too severe side effects including vivid dreams (many extremely odd), bouts of nausea which can be severe and seem to last about 1-2 hrs. I have not noticed too much anxiety but some agitation upon waking int he morning. No memory loss or fatigue and my sleep seems to be ok. I have also had a few mild headaches.

I see one person posted that they get tired from Wellbutrin. After about 4 weeks on it I have started feeling pretty severe fatigue...started in the afternoon the first couple of days but now it is almost all day long. Has anyone else had this experience with it? A little nervous about it and thinking of going off of it to see if that's the reason for the fatigue.

Added Wellbutrin 150mg to my daily Lexapro 10mg for only three days now and I can tell the difference. I'm energetic but feel like I'm moving slow. I am very focused but short memory. Heart burn, yes, not bad - yuck. Very snappy with my honey though, hope this goes away quickly. How long do these side effects last? Does anyone ever plan to use this stuff for a short therapy and then get off - or do I seriously need to think about being on this therapy forever. Makes me wonder if I want to stay on these drugs at all, know what I mean? Was on Paxil for a couple of years - made me kinda bummed out for stretches - emotions strange - no tears at a funeral - felt somewhat mechanical. Taking lexapro for about a year now - weight gain, short times w/ fatigue (laziness), mini-depressions, elevated blood pressure. The 150mgs are borrowed so I could try it out - my prescription is for 300mg - why do you think so much for a beginner - I'm thinking the 150s would have been a good place to start...I don't know????? Anyhoo - I'm listening. Thanks.
