I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 for a few months and I love it! The first few weeks were a bit hard because I felt constantly jumpy, nervous, and had a hard time sleeping. But there are side effects with almost everything for the first little while! Now that I've been on it for a while, I've noticed I'm losing weight, feeling energetic, and I feel hopeful about my life! Also I have a ridiculously increased sex drive. It may not be right for everyone, but for me it's been awesome so far.

I have been taking Wellbutrin SR, 150 mg., once a day for about 5 years now and I love it! I have always been very active my whole life until I had to deal with some very hard family problems. Well, I started getting to where I didn't want to get out of bed in the morning and to fix a meal was more than I could handle. I tried Prozac and just wanted to sleep, so my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin for me. I started feeling like my old self again. My doctor said depression medication should make you feel normal, not out of it or anything like that. Well, I feel normal. You have to listen to your body though. I had a hard time sleeping for the first couple of weeks but that went away. I also notice that if I am starting to feel overwhelmed, I just take an extra one. I'm supposed to take 2 a day, but I only take one in the morning. Every now and then I will take one at noon also. This helps if I'm feeling overwhelmed. You just have to pay attention to your body. If you get headaches, reduce your dose or only take it every other day. I tried the XL and didn't like it. I felt more tired. I really like the SR. It seems just right for me.

I can relate to a posting that stated the patient was having trouble distinguishing dreams from reality. I was having this problem too. Had a hard time explaining to my doctor who said that he had never heard of that side effect. It doesn't last long for me, but it's very troubling whe it occurs. I am unable to take the 150mg of Wellbutrin XL. I would prefer an extended release but it is not offered in 50mg. This means that I have to break a 100mg pill, not extended release, in two. The meds then kick in faster and drop off within about 10 hours. The drop off is also unsettling. Hope this post helps someone. Hang in there, guys. Keeping praying.

I have been taking Welbutrin for nearly 3 weeks and feel like I am seriously losing my mind. I feel like a walking zombie, numb to everything and my mind feels foggy. I can't remember things and am having a hard time diffrentiating dreams from reality. No appetite, extreme feelings of up and down, inability to concentrate, no sex drive, no ambition, crying all the time uncontrolably. I don't think I felt remotely close to this before I started taking this medication. Does this get better at 4 weeks or stays the same? I can't even remember what I was like before this. Anyone else having same symptoms?

I've been taking 30mg of XL for about 2 years. This is an increase of 150mg for about a year prior. Memory loss is the worst! I often go to do something and before I actually do it a minute later, forget what it was I was going to do. I have a very hard time concentrating. I have a job where I have to be mentally fit, and have been going crazy because I haven't been able to concentrate enough to figure out the simplest things. I am losing hair bad, but not sure if I can attribute it to Wellbutrin. I sweat constantly. I wake up in a puddle of sweat and have to turn my pillow repeatedly during the night to find a dry patch. I also sem to urinate a lot more than anyone else. I am up 1 or 2 times every night to use the bathroom. As for keeping me out of depression, it's worked well, but seems to be diminishing. I am feeling more and more depressed lately. My work and relationships are suffering due to my forgetfulness and I am irritable, mostly due to being upset with myself for not being able to concentrate and figure out what should be simple tasks.
I have not found a lot of information about these symptoms online except for this site. Only little blurbs here and there. After reading this, I think it's time to quit and try something else. Does anyone know if the hair grows back and memory comes back or do they just not get any worse after stopping???

Took to stop smoking and depression. Took Prozac for many years and responded well. Decided to go on wellbutrin to stop smoking and for depression. (figure i would kill two birds with one stone) . Had a hard time falling asleep, up til 2 in the morning. Also, I started breaking out. My skin was clear for years. ( I was on accutane 3 years ago). Still smoking, no desire to quit yet....however, I am considereing switching back to the prozac...can't deal with the acne...

STRANGE CAFFINE REACTIONS. I have to watch my caffine timing & consumption. If I have too much in the PM hours, I will stay up, get jitters, irritated, grind my teeth, & get a bad night of sleep. If I have too much I will get & upset stomache & the "squirts" to say it nicely:) I also noticed acne. But these are normal reactions to too much caffine. However, I get some serious headaches when I stay in the right level due to what I think is the WellubutrinXL. It is a different type of pain in the head. Hard to discribe. I have a hard time concentrating until I get a "wake up" with my coffee. Recently, I have cut down. I noticed my overall concentration through out the day is better than the high up of concentration I get in a cup of joe. I guess in theory: BALANCE is the key. & even better no coffee one day, but I can't see that happening. I like "JOE" too much. Thanks for reading.

SLIGHT LOSS OF SHORT TERM MEMORY. I AM DOING "ABSENT MINDED" ACTIONS. HARD TIME CONCENTRATING. For example, I get in my car ready to go & left the keys at the door. I have loss my keys so much lately my friends make fun of me & always ask if I have them. Another example: Is I seem to be getting information criss-crossed. Like I will leave the milk out & put the empty bowl in the frigerator. WOW! That was dumb; however I am not. I know it is the WELLUBUTRIN @ 150MGS ONCE A DAY. I am having a hard time concentrating simple actions....ANYONE ELSE BEEN DOING SILLY THINGS B/C OF MEMORY POOFS? Serious responses only please.
