This drug may as well be a placebo. I've was on it 6 weeks, and stopped taking it 9 days ago. Following my doc's advice I'd ramped the dose up from 1/4 tablet a day for the first week through to a maximum of 6mg daily. During the first 2 weeks I felt what might have been hot flushes through my face, but I can't for certain put it down to the xanax. I'm getting sick of psych meds that do nothing. I too went through the talks with my doc over the addictive possibilities and took that as a worthwhile risk considering the extent of my problems. Congrats for the people it works for, but like many drugs doesn't work on everyone.

for years my doctor would not prescribe this medicine for me because it might become addictive. i have a mental problem and could care less if i am addicted as long as i am able to go through life not feeling this war within myself. this medicine is for me and my children agree. before i was a mess, now i am a mom. great medicine. if your doctor says " well, i don't want to give this to you because it can become addictive" go to another doctor that actually cares about his/her patients mental well being. it is on the market for a good reason and has been for a long time. highly recommend.

My partner insists that he's not drunk & he's just very tired. He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?

These are: mouth ulcers, localised cysts in my groin, coldsores and fatigue. I'm just curious because the symptons seem to appear before the flare up...

THIS DRUG IS VERY ADDICTIVE IN THAT IT IS SO HARD TO COME OFF OF. I HAVE BEEN TAKEING IT FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND EVERYTIME I COME OFF OF IT I HAVE THE SAME SIDE EFFECTS. FILL DIZZY TUNNEL FISION NOISES AND LIGHT DISTURB ME TIGHT MUSTLES AND I MENTALLY JUST FILL BAD . IT LAST FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. AND YOU WILL FILL BACK TO NORMAL. NO MATTER WHAT THE DOCTORS SAY ABOUT LOWERING YOUR DOSAGES IT IS STILL JUST AS HARD. I WOULD SUGGEST IF YOU GET OFF OF IT DONT GET BACK ON IT. JUST BECAUSE YOUR HAVEING A BAD DAY IT DOES NOT TAKE LONG TO GET BACK INTO YOUR SYSTEM. THE BEST WAY TO DEAL WITH THIS HORRIBLE SIDE EFFECT IS PICK YOURSELF AND MAKE YOURSELF GO. I KNOW ITS YARD BUT IT WORKS.
