I've been taking Xanax for about a year. For the first 8 months I would only take it very occasionally, but I have admittedly increased the dosage over the past few months to 0.25 every couple of days to 0.5 every day for the past two weeks. Over the past 3 months I have noticed a marked increase in anxiety and paranoia (exactly what I'm trying to fix). Lately I have been experiencing dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia, weight loss, twitching in my legs, backside and other places, cramping type sensations in my left leg and the feeling that I have a 150kg giant riding on my shoulders, to the extent that I'm 110% convinced I have a neurological disorder. The doctors assure me no neurological disorder exists (and for whatever reason I don't believe them), and my wife is on the point of walking out. Xanax certainly gives you that instant hit of calm, no questions. But I never used to be THIS anxious, I'm not sure if this stuff is helping me long term.

I've had Fibromyalgia for a long time. The #1 thing, is to have a positive attitude. Get info. about this disease. Get moving. Start out slowly. Do what you are able to do, nothing more and nothing less. I know its hard to keep moving. But if u dont, ur stuck with no life. I've been down this road too. Get some physical therapy. I have found, for me, that pool therapy is the best. I dont have as much gravity to deal with in a swimming pool. The water seems to hold u up. Get involved in som...

by rose81, 2 replies, updated about 20 hours ago.I was given the fantastic news that my body doesn't like itself anymore. I don't know when it had a falling out, but all I can say is the course of action to remedy this disease is CRAZY. Taking meds that have more side effects and the restrictions on my daily life, because of the meds, no driving, no salt, no sugar, and little fat in my diet, very little sun. Bathing in skin moisturizer, moodiness, mental confusion, can't work, but expected to continue cooking for family, and cleaning. Which I guess ...

He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?

Was prescribed this for insomnia. 5mg no problem, which is why I asked for a bigger dosage. 10mg makes me "happy" and then tired and then sleep, always with dreams and almost always nightmarish (scary) which diminish into weird and once awake am left groggy. I now take Ambien with no nightmares or after effects.
