Thank God for this website because it confirms my feelings that Yasmin was causing very negative side effects. I gained 15 pounds in about 2 months, feel very agitated most of the time, very sore breast most of the month, decreased sex drive, oversentitivity to touch, and sometimes feel shakey and have dizzy spells. I have broken out in a rash on now several spots on my arms, and have had little bumps all over my back almost since the beginning of taking Yasmin. Today, because of reading these postings, I have realized all this negative crap has come around since I started taking this pill. The rash on my arms didn't start until 3 months after being on the pill and it is at its worst right after I take the pill in the morning. By bedtime it is very light, and by the next morning it is almost gone. I understand that all drugs effect people differently, but from my experience, this is a very scarey bcp and everyone should think really hard before trying it.

Here is how I describe my emotions while on Yasmin or for that matter just about any other bcp.

If you take a pen and draw and up and down wavy line; sort of like roller coaster hills. The first couple of months the tops of steep peaks are me when I am feeling well. The low bottom peaks are very narrow and short. As the months pass; the peaks on top become very narrow and the bottom peaks widen and flatten out. Does that make any sense? It's truly a roller coaster when you think of it. And I want off this ride permanently.

Question: Have any of you had and IUD or considered one? Any experiences? I am considering this option unless I am successful in giving my husband a home vasectomy which I have been threatening for awhile now ;) I refuse to put myself and my family through hormonal hell any longer.

My panic attack for the day has subsided for now. I wonder if they are worse in the morning because I take my pill before bedtime?

Denise

I had planned to stop taking Yasmin 2 weeks ago due to nausea, but kept going (taking it at bedtime instead)to try to get my cycle back to wear it was. I now realize that since starting this pill, I have become depressed & feel really drained of energy, sometimes short of breath, & light-headed. It definitely is from the Yasmin. I've never taken medication before, except for vitamins & antibiotics when needed, so I know this change in my mood is related to Yasmin.
All the hormones that women across the country are taking are probably causing more problems than they're worth!

Hi,

I was on Yasmin for one month. Towards the last couple of weeks i started having a TERRIBLE time sleeping, i was having anxiety attacks at night, breathing was difficult, shortness of breath. I was awake ALL night long! After reading this board, i am positive that it is from this Yasmin!! I also had the tingly hands and arms at night. I took it at bedtime. The pack ended last week, I was suppose to start a new pack this Sunday, but opted to stop using it. Does anyone know how long these side effects seem to last after stopping this pill? I'm sure it's in my system somewhat still, I had trouble sleeping again last night. I HOPE this ends soon! I've never had problems like this before, so it has to be related!

Thanks! Please let me know how long before I should feel normal again!

I am midway through my 2nd pack of Yasmin. I started it in April, and my first period while on the pill was the beginning of May while I was on the white pills. That period was brownish and lasted only for a day or so. Since starting the 2nd pack, I have VERY sore breasts and frequent urination. so bad that I thought I was pregnant(never been pregnant before-so Im not familiar with pregnancy symptoms) until I read others comments regarding yasimn including frequent urination. I take my pill at bedtime(at 11pm) and I usually feel nauseas until midnight or so. The frequent urination is consistent throughout the day, and my breasts are always sore. I have not gained anymore weight, nor have I lost any.

I have been taking Yasmin for 5 days so far. I take it before bedtime. The first day I had a horrible headache and nausea and I had no energy. The second day was just nausea. The third day, just lack of energy. By the 4th day I was feeling fine. I hope that's the end of the side effects.

My sun has suffered from three years of age with stomach pain and discomfort uppon eating he is now 12 years old. We have seen many doctors all of whom are very vague. His blood work consistantly comes back with low amylase and lipase. Yet they dont see any need for further investigation. I have been told he has a sensitive stomach. As a mother I see more. I live with him and see him every day. He eats very little, (i think it still hurts) he says he's not in pain anymore. At nine he was still thr...
