I already had my side effects written here and I wanna thank to the person that started this web-site.
AND
If anyone decides that there is something we can do against the pharmaceutical company that is keep making this pill - let me know because I'M IN!!!!!
Let's see if we can stop this one way or another.
Yasmin is on of the most prescribed birth control pills. In Europe, 14 GIRLS DIED BECAUSE OF YASMIN, one last week, a 22 years old from Croatia. Imagine how many others could have died and no one knows the reason!

I am 25 and have been taking Yasmin for about a year and a half. I switched to it because it would help my acne breakouts (face and chest/back),
as well as "reduce bloating" according to my doctor.
It did indeed help with helping calm down the PMS mood swings around 'that time of the month'.
However, especially in the last few months, I have noticed a very dramatic decrease in my libido and bouts of being down or 'blue' aka depression-like symptoms, as well as breast tenderness. Also strangely enough, one of the side effects listed on the info sheet claims it can cause bloating. So who do I believe? This is my point exactly...

Ladies, take 5 minutes and CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS that come inside the box of your Yasmin pills. When you do, you might be surprised by what you find, like I was.
I have been on several types of birth control since I was about 17, from Tri-cyclen, to Diane-35 and others.

What the doctors and pharmaceutical companies DON'T tell us, is that female sex hormones can cause cancer. This is literally written in the fine print on the info you get with your pills. It's there you just have to look for it.
Think about it... these companies get paid masses of money to keep you ignorant and thinking that there is little to no risk of taking birth control pills. They won't get paid if millions of women stop taking their doses.

Even my mom, who was taking hormones to balance out her menopausal issues, has a increased risk of cancer now due to taking hormones.

Just research it a little bit, google it and you will see.
Birth control pills can have permanent effects, and even temporary effects that cause you to feel miserable.
This is your life, your health, and we have to be aware of what we are putting in our bodies!!!!!!
Is gaining 5 lbs or having a few pimples really worth the risk of depression and the possibility of cancer??

I am not extremest, that is, I am not saying that no females should take birthcontrol pills. I understand there will always be a demand.
But this forum is important because it let's us share our worries. I am worried for myself (will these hormones contribute to breast cancer issues later in life?), and I am worried for all the girls out there who want the benefits of a pill (clear skin, regular periods) don't know that the side effects can be life threatening.

Educate yourself!! , don't believe everything the drug companies tell you, and what the doctors DO NOT tell you.
Remember, YOU are the only expert on YOU!

I just wanted to follow up to my earlier posting. (I have copied it below). Turns out the side effect was not from Yasmin. Actually caused by a nerve. I wanted to post a follow up should anyone be scanning this site.

I started taking Yasmin in July. I had taken other traditional birthcontrol pills for years. Decided to try Yasmin as my OBGYN suggested it may help with weightloss as I was having a really hard time losing weight despite diet and excercise and ruling out other issues. I have not had the side effects such as anxiety and skin pigmentation that others mention. It did make my periods heavier and more cramps. Cramps mostly went away with ibuprophin.

However, I have been having a symptom that I am wondering if others have had. I have been to my primary care doctor, orthopedist, nuerologist, vein specialist, and no one can seem to find the issue. I am now wondering if it could be a Yasmin side effect. Since mid July what started out as a tingling (almost numbness) in my upper right thigh. It sometimes feels like pins and needles, other times like a bruise, and other times like a sharp pain. Seems worse at night. But numbress is always there.

I am very interested in hearing what people have to say. I am going to make an appt with my OBGYN to try another pill.

I am so glad to have found this page and learned that I am not the only person going through this. Yasmin is Horrible. The worst part is that I am only now realizing it after more than 3 years. I was such and outgoing happy party girl. Then I changed.. Depressed, anxiety, panic attacks, nervous, insecure, angry, short-tempered, thought I was going crazy, heart palpitations and the list goes on and on. Oh yeah and my sex drive non-existent when I always had a very high libido. I didn't understand what was happening to me and never thought the pill had anything to do with it. I also had beautiful thick hair which is now a few strands of oily limpy hair. I stopped the pill and it's been about two weeks. I'm not sure if it's withdrawal I'm having from what I read from other women but my heart palpitations are horrible, I'm restless, my hands are sweaty, I feel confused and dizzy, nauseous. How long until I detox my body? I just want to go back to the person I was. I went to the Gyno 2 weeks ago and mentioned my low libido and asked if Yasmin could be the reason.. The Answer: No, You need more four play. I didn't believe her and that's when I started researching the internet. I can't believe we have all gone through this and these stupid doctors don't care. If you tell them you have anxiety they give you Zanex. I just want to go back to how I use to be. I will never take birthcontrol pills again.. Yasmin should not be in the market. I've read other posts and I'm hoping my third week of post Yasmin gets better.

Yasmin has worked fine for me. My side effects have been trivial, and I've experienced no spotting or breakthrough bleeding whatsoever, even when taking the pill was thrown off by an hour or two. (Or six, in one case, due to vacation travel!) For the record, I'm 25, just started my second active month of Yasmin, and have no pre-existing medical conditions.

Birthcontrol pills affect each woman differently. If you are having massive problems, by all means go off it. Personally, peace of mind for an effective birth control is worth a few minimal side-effects to me.
