I started taking Yasmin about 10 days ago. On the first day I was at my computer and noticed that I suddenly couldnt focus on my screen. My vision became blurry. I also felt sharp shooting pains behind my legs.I took it for 7 days. During that time I became extremely tired, lethargic, fatigued, my eyes hurt. I slept for longer hours, and just felt generally drained. This was highly noticeable to me since I go to the gym everyday, and I didn't even have the zeal or energy to do that. My breasts became very sore and sensitive. The shooting pains moved from the back of my legs to random parts of my body. I stopped taking it after the 7th day and noticed an immediate improvement in my energy level the next day. I didnt need as much sleep, my eyes felt much better, not grainy and painful like I had to close them all the time. Now, the 11th day, my breasts are no longer tender, and all the other symptoms are gone. These are just the facts. I personally WILL NEVER take this pill again!!

Ladies(and some gentlemen!):

I'm sure many of you have seen my posts describing my personal experiences with YASMIN, so I won't fo through them all again. Sufice it to say, mine, like many of yours, has been a totally unpleasant and nervewracking experience. I am writing today to encourage ANY of you who have not to PLEASE call Berlex Labs and report your experiences with Yasmin. I spoke with a rep today and was told that until a certain number of complaints come in(she did not give me that number), then they would take no action. So, we need to GET ON THE PHONE! I made my report about 2 months ago and it was arduous, to say the least, to reach someone because of their corporate phone system. The person I spoke with this morning told me the reporting system has been STREAMLINED apparently due to the high volume of complaint calls they've been receiving. So, please, PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL!

The number is 1-888-berlex4 . The prompt will then direct you to "report adverse event".

Also, I found it interesting that this person told me there was no way they could provide me assistance because I am no longer taking YASMIN. I INSISTED that the MAJORITY of my problems started after I stopped, which is why she encouraged me to get all of you on the phone. With enough complaints, including those with adverse effects AFTER coming off YASMIN, they will eventually be able to do something, if only to change the labeling.

So, I'm on a MISSION; how about YOU?

Rita

Hi Girls,
I've been on Yasmin for 2 weeks and have been experiencing some new changes since taking this pill that have caused me to look online for some advice on side effects. Basically I have been reading through some of the horror stories here and just want to know if I should stop taking this stuff now before its too late! I have had a coil (hormone free) for 2 1/2 years which has been fine , just a couple of painful heavy days during the cycle but otherwise love it. The reason I decided to go on Yasmin was to hopefully help me with PMS symptoms of mild depression, low sex drive, and bloatedness for the 10 days before my period starts. So far it is hard to see whether these symptoms will improve as it is early days. So far I have been bleeding , painfully but not too heavy since I started this pill, I have lost about 10 pounds in weight which is probably the only positive thing and also a very tempting reason for me to stay on it, but the last few days I have felt a bit depressed again and low sex drive and super sensitive about everything, v needy and insecure , plus weak and tired ,not good!
Do you think I should stop now or give it till the end of month?
I did try prozac fo PMT for 6 months last year which really helped but don't want to be hooked on anti depressants for life, even though they kept my weight down too I gained 15 pounds when I came off them.
I have just bought agnus cactus, but is it enough?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!
P.S. Anyone thinking of trying the coil to stop babies, I highly recommend it!!

Hey everyone! It's great to finally know that other women like me are suffering like I am... and that it's not in my head. I stopped taking Yasmin against my doctors advice (she felt that there was NO possible way that Yasmin could cause so many problems), and I have to say that I'm already feeling a little better. I took my last pill 5 days ago- and while I'm no where NEAR 100%, I have noticed some positive changes.

I honestly panicked when I read all of these posts... because I'm worried about possible permanent side effects that this horrible drug has done to me.

I just want to feel normal again- and not be a complete bitch at all times. It's also gotten to the point where my anxiety is out of hand... and I'm so paranoid about everything at all times. Fortunately, I have a boyfriend that loves me more than anything else in this world and has stuck by me even though I've been relatively psychotic. I understand that it does take a few months for the hormone to completely exit the system, so I just hope that eating well, drinking lots fo water, and getting as much exercise as I can will help speed up the process.

Feel free to email me if you want. I made my original post on 4/22/05... and listed my side effects, etc. I have an appt for my Ob/Gyn tomorrow for an evaluation and I'm going to urge her to not recommend this form of Oral Contraception to any of her patients.
