Hi to all Yasmin victims. I have been off Yasmin for 2 months now and still experiencing anxiety in the mornings and depression. Silke, flower babies, whoever is there to help me believe this suffering will come to an end. I lost the joy in life, and cannot function as i used to. Please please write to me girls, i really need support. I am 26 and living on my own in another city. I had to move next to them for 1.5 months in order to survive. I lost so much weight, my thyroid started to work fast (it is under control now). I have a beautiful and loving boyfriend, and he is suffering with me too, our relationship is damaged a lot because of my severely depressed mood. I need to talk to people who are getting better. I am on antidepressants because I was soooo depressed and with no appetite. I feel much better compared to the previous month, I am trying my best to stay strong but sometimes loose my hope. I really need you guys, I really need your supporting words.

1. Blood Pressure 180/120 resulting in an emergency room trip
2. Weight gain of 25 POUNDS! Most/all of which was water and came off within the first week of being off from Yasmin.
3. Bloating and extreme water retention. See # 2.
4. Severe leg muscle cramping and foot pain
5. A mental feeling of not caring and general fogginess
6. Complete loss of libido
7. Acid reflux (probably from the diuretic in Yasmin)
8. General weakness in my muscles (there were times that I could barely open a revolving door).
I was on Yasmin for a year. I have been off for one month. I am still on blood pressure meds, but they don't think the Yasmin is out of my system. Has anyone else gotten hypertension from Yasmin and if so, how long did you have to be on blood pressure meds?
Some of my symptoms are getting better after a month, and some are not. If anyone is reading this to decide whether or not to take Yasmin, please don't. You may not have any symptoms right away and you may think you feel great, but that is the scariest part. When symptoms come on gradually, you hardly notice them until you are in the hospital emergency room.

I already had my side effects written here and I wanna thank to the person that started this web-site.
AND
If anyone decides that there is something we can do against the pharmaceutical company that is keep making this pill - let me know because I'M IN!!!!!
Let's see if we can stop this one way or another.
Yasmin is on of the most prescribed birth control pills. In Europe, 14 GIRLS DIED BECAUSE OF YASMIN, one last week, a 22 years old from Croatia. Imagine how many others could have died and no one knows the reason!

Girls, I thought I was going crazy until I started reading all of these posts on the side effects of Yasmin. I have been off and on different types of pills for 15 years and have NEVER experienced anything like this. My breasts hurt so badly I can't even touch them, I have gained weight, am bloated, EXHAUSTED and so moody and off sex that my husband doesn't know what to think anymore. All of this after only 12 days of this nightmare pill. My doctor and another gyno friend told me to "ride it out" until I finish the pack and go back on Yasminelle (I live in Europe, don't know if it exists in the States), which I was on until last month. I cannot fathom taking this for another 10 days but am also worried about stopping a pill mid-cycle.
I have found all of this so surprising since I am quite healthy and have never experienced side effects from anything before (though it should be said that I have never taken tons of medication since I am rarely sick). I am also really active, always out and about, doing a million things at once and while I get tired like everyone else I am used to long, active days. Since I started this pill I have been going to sleep at 9.30pm and getting up at 7am!!!! And I'm still tired when I wake up!!!!
I have several girlfriends who have been taking Yasmin for years and absolutely love it, so I thought something was really wrong with me. I actually considered taking a pregnancy test though I think it's highly unlikely since I was on another pill last month and had a regular period two weeks ago.
I just can't wait for this all to be OVER. Something is wrong with this pill and my body.

Yasmin has totally decreased my sex drive to absolutely ZERO.
I have been married for nearly 7 months now and i have had NO sex drive WHATSOEVER. It's really sad, coz i absolutely adore and love my husband but i haven't really had any desire to be sexually active with him.
I have been off Yasmin for a few weeks now and i think my sex drive is very slowly, but surely returning to me.,..yay! haha!
Just be careful girls. Make sure you totally look into this pill, and that goes for any other pill as well. Take care of yourselves. x

I went on Yasmin after the birth of my third child because I was having all of these symptoms that everyone is describing...mood swings, anxiety, depression, crying all the time, heart palpitations and so much more...once I went on the Yasmin I felt like a whole new person and it worked really great. I went off of it to have my fourth child. After having my son I started having terrible bleeding and irregular periods but NO other problems like I was having before. I started the Yasmin to try and regulate my periods and now...I am having all of the Anxiety, mood swings, up at night, mind can't stop spinning, tired and depression, everything you girls are describing. It is as if my hormones have switched and now the Yasmin is causing all the side effects. I have to get off this stuff...sad thing is I had a tubal after having my son...so I don't need hormones for "birth Control" but the heaviness of my period was so bad that I can't go anywhere for two days...but at this point...I will deal with the irregularity then all the side effects that this drug causes.

I'm 21years old. i took Yasmin for a year because i have PCOS. but had to get off of it because i could no longer afford Yasmin. i have been off of Yasmin for a year. i always thought that the problems i was having was due to PCOS. i was reading the side effects the other girls had with Yasmin. and its sounds just like the problems i have had. i had pain on the right side of my head it lasted for about 2 weeks. i wonder what it was but didn't think much about until now. about a week ago i woke up and my neck was hurting so bad i could not move it i took a pain pill and it did help a little. i thought it was the way i slept that night but its still hurting not as bad. i started losing my hair on head my 3 week on Yasmin , and started growing more chest hair ,neck, chin, lip hair on the 4 week, pain in my chest sometimes and pain in my arms and legs and almost like move met like someones kicking inside of my stomach but i not with child done had i test ran i feel very mad all the time anything upset me i get really pissy at time and its been like that since my 1 weeks on Yasmin has anyone else had any this happen to them

Oh my god, I googled 'Yasmin depression' and was so shocked by the results! I too have been feeling terrible since I started taking Yasmin 5 months ago, and just thought I'd check to see if there was a link... I am amazed and kinda relieved to see that you girls have all been going through the same things as me!
I'm going to stop taking it tomorrow and will report back in a few months!

I am 26 years old, have a great job, boyfriend, friends and family. Everything was great until Oct. 1st, 2007 - the day I started taking Yaz. The first week, I would get into bad moods for no reason, and by the 4th month my life was spinning out of control. Actually, my mind was - my life was still near perfect. Here were my symptoms during this period: Panic Attacks, nausea, shaking, de-realization and so much more. There was a point where I was scared to live and scared to die. I didn't even want to leave my house. This is when I decided to see a psychiatrist who percribed me Klonopin (a form of Valium to get me through the days.)
I stopped taking YAZ The end of Jan 2008 (after I put 2 and 2 together), so I have been clean of it for approx. 2.5 months now. But the upsetting part for me was I thought the day I stopped taking the pill, was the day I would get my life back. Not so!!! I have been feeling a little better but I cry because I I still do not feel like my old self, which was happy, outgoing and full of energy. Does anyone know how long it takes to feel better? I hear 3 months, but I just want to know how long it took for someone to feel normal again. My anxiety is mostly gone, but now I just feel withdrawn and like my head is in a constant fog w/ extreme fatigue :(:(:(
Girls - I feel your pain. And I also see the other side, with the women that had sucess on this pill. My two closest friends were on Yaz and loved it! But for me, it took many months from my life and I am still not 100%. Thanks for everyone who shared. I think this is the first time I ever blogged on a web-site, and you girls gave me the encouragement to share my story. Please feel free to send me a personal e-mail for support.

Hey, girls.
I'm 24 years old and i've been taking Yasmin for three months and stopped a month ago.
I must admit that at first (for 3 weeks) my mood was almost better than normal but after that...
I had mood swings, slept for 12 hours and was still feeling druged up, numbness in my hands and legs (so that i would wake up during the night because of it), absolutely no desire for sex and the pills dried me out (you know where:) ), had very poor orgasms, was too emotional and sensitive and i would cry and be hurt for peanuts. Oh, and my migraine got really really bad.
Now, after a month without them my sex drive is back (and the ability to do it without a lubricant too), i dont wake up in the middle of the night and my mood is so improved that even my boyfriend made a comment the other day about how happier i got lately.
But sadly...those pills were my best shot, so i guess i'm back on those sweet little latex thins again.
I hope it helps anyone.
I apologize for potential grammar/spelling mistakes, i can guarantee you i dont make those mistakes in my language :)

Thank you to all that have posted. I have been on Yasmin for over five years and have never considered going off it. I asked my OB/GYN whether my body needed a 'break' like I had heard about girls taking, and he said 'take a break if you want to get pregnant.' I was having no problems with it (that I could discern) and I didn't want to get pregnant so I agreed. That was about three years ago. I have ZERO interest in sex and I have no idea whether it is because it has become too painful because of vaginal dryness or if it is because of the drug in the Yasmin that decreases sex drive. These symptoms have kind of snuck up on me because I never thought to connect them to them bc I was taking. So, withdrawal symptoms or not I am going off them. that is the only way to find out whether they are from Yasmin or not.

Can anyone tell me if they had an experience where they just dropped interest in their b/f at all?
This is a guy concern, of what it does to girls, and its not the best thing. I know a lot of girls, and I have talked to a lot. Yasmin has seemed to do the worse so far as I noticed. my g/f is taking Yasmin.
Our relationship was really tight and close. everything was going perfect. the night we had a dance, everything was perfect. we were being ourself. the next day she just snapped, and she was not herself. she is opposite of herself right now, and we are on the worse conditions. I don't want it to end, and it seems as it is. she just lost interest of everything we had, just hanging out and everything. her friends told me she is changing also, and no one knows. I have been reading a lot lately on this, and it seems that it is this birth control, Yasmin some people had the same exact problem.
I suggested to her that it could be the birth control is why she is acting like this, but she disagrees. we have not talked in 3 days now, and everything is not right.
I do not like this birth control, and if she does not want to get off birth control, I would like her to switch perhaps. She is not herself anymore, and I am not sure how to show her this.
I just don't understand how it could all affect a person to be their opposite self.
any ideas of what I should do? I wanna fight this through everything and be there for her. a lot of people say she is not herself anymore, and I want to help with everything I can do. both of our ages are 17, young yes, but I want to understand a few things and I want to keep this relationship alive.

I was on Yasmin for 4 months. I HATED IT!!! What is the point of being on birth contraol if you never are able to have sex? I was constantly bleeding after the 1st month. It was as if I had my period for 3 striaght months - every single day. And not just spotting, heavy flow. I was depressed, miserable and in so much pain. I had constant cramps and back pain. I went to the ER 2 times because of this and I was told the 1st time that it was just my body's way of getting used to a different pill. After I was on it for 3 months, I went to the ER a second time because I was in so much pain and bleeding so heavily, that I could not get out of bed. I actually had to wear Depends, pads were not nearly enough! The dr at the ER the 2nd time told me that he has had a ton of cases with girls on Yasmin with the same problem and to stop taking it immediatly. About 3 or 4 days after I stopped taking it, everything was back to normal - Thank God! I was extremely hesitant to try another pill after that, but I decided to give Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo a chance and I love it. No random bleeding, no cramps and my periods are always light. Yasmin should be taken off of the market. I have a bunch of friends who tried it and went through the same problems I did.

I've been taking Yaz for three months and, as much as I'd like to stay on a birth control pill, this one just isn't working. I've been ravenously hungry, and nauseous too. It's been a vicious cycle of eating (to stem the insane cravings), and then vomiting. Yuck. I'm over it. I've read some of the other posts, and I can relate to the need to pee also. I experienced the same diuretic effect, but only for a few weeks during the first pack of pills. I've also had a mild headache nearly every day since I began taking the pill. And I've had sore breasts too. I'm sure there are some girls who can handle Yaz, but I'm not one of them!

Man! OKay, first I came on this website to look for the awful side effects I experience with Nuvaring birth control...after reading a hundred comments of girls who had the same problems with it as me! I am definitely dropping it! So I think, what about Yasmin?? maybe this one will be good, and I come to this comment page, and everyone has OTHER identical bad side effects!
Looks like Nuvaring makes you insanely anxious and on edge and KILLS your sex drive 100%. And now I see Yasmin...gives you horrible aching pains in your legs at night.... and ups your heart rate and gives you mummurs!
Is there no hope for us? Does anyone know a BC that is actually good?? Help!

Hello,
I read about how YAZ birth control pill affects the body and psych and I am now scared. This is my 2nd day of YAZ (I've never been on birth control pills ever and I am 27 years old), it's all new to me but after reading all these negative posts about Yaz I don't know what to do. Before the birth control pills, I was depressed, annoying, serious weight problems - 210 lbs :~~((, low energy, low libido, always tired, terrible migraines every 2nd day, ridiculously increased appetite and excessive hunger, hair where it shouldn't be, menstrual blood clots, excessive cramping etc
I have all these problems for 3 years now and now that the family doc. put me on YAZ birth control pill I am even more scared - mainly of more weight gain, it would be a tragedy for me, I am fat enough already and what's worse I can't lose the weight, exercise doesn't help, diet doesn't help, NOTHING. Will YAZ birth control pill worsen my already tragic condition? I just don't know what to do and what to believe ... I appreciate any advice or help you can give me ... Thank You to all!

Hi.. I have been researching birth control pills for a while now, as I knew I wanted to take them for acne and irregular periods. The doc gave me yasmin so I narrowed my googling and got a bit of a scare, after all the discussions I've read it almost seems now that it has a life of it's own.. it is a "DEMON PILL" that "RUINS LIVES" and it's "NOT WORTH IT" .................. but as someone who has never been on birth control at all before I'm trying not to be convinced that it will do nothing but make my problems worse, and I think I'd like to put it out there that you only hear the negative in places like this and all potential side effects ARE already listed right in the package. Everyone is different.. so I'll continue to try to read comments by girls who have been on it for as long as me.. So far it's only been a week, but already some girls describe horrific side effects of which I've experienced NONE. Maybe it's mind over matter lol I'm quite determined to have this work for me. Anyway just saying to anyone like me who is reading these.. if it's been prescribed to you don't be afraid to try it just because it didn't work out for someone else, NOT saying horrible side effects don't happen, it's very clear that they do.. but don't let the negative convince you so easily that all of a sudden it's all yasmin's fault that your life sucks.. try believing it might make it better!

I have been using Yasmin for almost 10 years. Recently I have began getting migraines (never had them before), nasty vaginal discharge and an embarrassing increase in facial hair. I can somewhat deal with the migraines, but the other two symptoms are extremely irritating.
I have been to my gyno for both. She told me that the discharge was "normal" with the use of Yasmin. I don't think snotty goo coming from your vagina for a straight week before your period is "normal". She assured me that all testing came back negative and it was just something I would have to deal with. As far as the facial hair goes...I can't leave the house without standing in front of a mirror and plucking my poor chin and neck for up to an hour each day. My gyno suggested that I get laser treatment, which would be grand if SHE were paying for it.
I don't know if I want to continue taking Yasmin or not. I have ovarian cysts and used to have severe periods lasting for a week and a half at a time, and Yasmin had helped with those problems.
Has anyone else had these problems...and what are you doing for them?

Just a update I have taken 3 of the Lexapro and Iam very tired and dont feellike myself
I also didnt sleepwelllast 2 nights
Of course had all these symptoms prior to Lexapro
I will say it got rid of the creepy crawling under my arms that I suffered with for 6 weeks. It was like restless arm syndrome and it went away only 3 days on the Lexapro keeping my fingers crossed it doesnt come back.
Dejay also is on lexapro a week ahead of me and just so you all know she is doing so much better.
She was awful 2 weeks ago and now she is laughing and decorating her Christmas Tree.
I was really worried about her as she and I have become so close.
She swears she has no side effects from the Lexapro
I feel tired and kind of blah
I need to get back to work and get back on track and its so hard and so frustrating
I only slept 3 hours last night and wish I could take a nap but I cant.
DJ is seeing a therapist and she said the checmicals in our brains were altered by the stupid pill but that we will be back to normal.
I hate that I had to take a pill to get over Yaz/Yasmine as I said I didnt even take a Tylenol prior to this experience.
Does anyone else have any experience with the Lexapro??
Cant believe I had to take it
I too had been to the Emergency like 7 times in 7 weeks everytime telling em Iam fine except the first time I was anemic.
The last time I went to the ER the doctor told me to see a shrink.....he didnt believe a pill could trigger this
Dejay and I are so mad about the pill
It has stolen a part of our life and robbed a part of our soul
This experience forever changed us both
We have to do something everyday innocent women are taking the pill only to end up where we are today! Its wrong
Very very wrong
I have had pharmacist my doctor other doctors tell me its not the pill well it was the pill or the effects it played on my hormones
It made me a person who never took medication in my life have to take Lexapro!

I have just read all of your comments on the Yasmin birth control pill and would like to state a few of mine. I have been on Yasmin for about 2 1/2 years, the first side affect that I experienced is my heart rate felt out of control at times during the first 3 months or so that I started taking it that went away thank god! I also lost about 5 pounds instintly, can't complain there. The only side affect that I am a little conserned about is my horrible mood swings and depression about 4 days before I start my period. I will take a small problem amd make it into a huge deal and I feel like crying my eyes out. Unfortunatly the one that I take this out on is my husband poor guy! Do any of you girls feel your mood swings and depression only during certain times of the month? I am honestly starting to wonder if I should change.

Hi Guest 31105
I just wanted to let you know that It will take some time for your daughters hormones to balance again. Believe me right now they are still very off balance, and since that intricate balance is what gives you a sense of well being, the fact that they are so off (and I believe the YASMIN does this even more so than any of the other bcp for some girls) then she is not going to feel well for a few months. It WILL be on and off too, as I have experienced this as well. Dont go by when other people on this site feel good or bad, because everyones body chemistry is different. I know that personally for me it seems like there is only about a week or so that I felt good and then I would have a lot of bad days, before, during and after my period. Especially just after quitting the yasmin.
Keep in mind though that this gets better and better every month, you see birth control pills suppress the endogenous ovarian production of estradiol and progesterone resulting in low hormone levels which may be seen for 2-3 months after oral birth control pills have been stopped. Levels may return to normal within this time period. (I received my information from a lab where I have been having my hormones tested for the past 6 months.) But, I have been having a really SLOW recovery period of this balancing of my hormones, as I have seen with many girls on this site. So I believe with all the other types of bcp that someone may be on this may be true, but I think Yasmin threw my hormones so out of whack, and so OPPOSITE of my body chemistry that it is taking longer for the body to recover. So I was hoping that since your daughter was so young still and producing so many hormones still that she may recover faster (I wrote you in a earlier post) and she may still as compared to us, but it definitely is going to be months, not weeks. Dont be discouraged if she goes down hill again next month and the one after that as well. Keep telling her it is going to get better, and that as her body ovulates and goes through its cycle each month that it is producing the hormones she needs to regulate and balance her hormones. Tell her it is normal to feel great and happy for a while (it may be a week it may only be a day) and you feel like your improving, and then all of a sudden the next day or the next minute even you can feel like your whole world has fallen apart again and your back to square one. Its not like a steady improvement day to day, its more like month to month and you will only see the improvement in the fact that eventually she will start having more good days than bad, and more of her symptoms will gradually disappear. I dont know if raising the anti depressant dose will help as I said it seems to be a roller coaster of emotions as Im willing to bet in a few days she will start feeling better again as her progesterone and estrogen are going to start to rise again these next few weeks and they will be trying to balance themselves again before her next period where both hormones will fall again (Just before her period) and then the egg is released (her period) and then the hormones start to climb again after her period. So you can see why she becomes emotional at different times.
Being a nurse myself I have done tons of reading on hormones and what the body goes through in a cycle just so I can try to understand what is happening and why, but I have to tell you even knowing all I know and having the scientific facts of why I may be feeling the way I do, even I still fall into a depression and feel like I am crazy at times. Even to the point that my mom has had to do a lot of comforting to me! And Im in my 30's! So please just keep telling her to hang in there and that she is not crazy, what she is feeling is real because hormones (the right balance) are so important to our bodies our minds and our health, and the bcp wiped out that balance and now our bodies have to build this house of cards again, so to speak.
Take care and feel free to write back especially if you have any questions I will answer them as honestly as I can. Oh, and also, if your daughter does not start to feel some improvement in a least 4-5 months and I mean improvement not necessarily total recovery, I would take her to a doctor who specializes in hormones (It will take some research to find one who really does) and have her hormones tested to see if her body is having trouble balancing a particular hormone. But keep in mind it takes a long long time for complete balance as I have not even reached that stage yet, but I did set myself back by trying to restart my original bcp I was on Ortho novum for 14 yrs with no problems, and it threw my hormones off yet again! But Im hoping not as bad as the yasmin did. Only time will tell.
Sorry I wrote a book again!
Take care, I wish your daughter and all the girls on this web site the best of luck!

Thank you so much for all of your advice flowerbabies. I can't tell you how good it feels- that I am not alone.
Today is day number four without Yasmin and its a struggle. I know in my heart when it is out of my system I will feel like myself again. I miss being happpy and looking forward to things a lot. It is just so wierd because I used to be such a happy person- and now I have these times where I just feel awful. There are times when I feel like my old self again- which is what keeps me going. It's been tough because this past month is when the panic attacks and depression have started, and my boyfriends been gone for three out of the four weeks on business. I need him sooooooooooooo much right now. I just can't wait for him to back! Anyways girls, just know that it will get better-- I just know it will!

Please watch yourselves girls. I too had 'brain zaps'. Then I had the grand mal seizure as reported on this site last week. Not sure if they are at all correlated, maybe just coincidental, but upon reading more on seizures I see petit mal seizures are like 'brain zaps'. You look awake but you tune out for a minute or two.

Hi...I took my last Yamin pill the end of August, had a period, and it stopped normally. Then i didnt have a period again...until December becuase I took Provera for 10 days. I had a pretty light period for about 5 days. That was in December. Now it is almost March and no period. I was on Yasmin for about 5 years. I was on other BC pills before that. I am 26 years old. I just got married. I am not pregnant. Have any of you experienced no period after going off this hell pill? I still have a bit of anxiety, but not as bad as it was. So girls, look forward to the future. I am 6 months off and it has gotten better! I still take 0.5 mg of Lorazapan every morning, and I still see a psych. once a month. But it has gotten so much better, just not perfect. Anyways, I am freaking out about this no period thing---please please help me! I just made an appt. for next week with a different gyno for a second opinion. Please reply! Thanks!

The the girl who posted about the migraines. I was on it for a yr. and then I started having the migraines. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me migraine medicine, it helped but eventually my side effects got worse and I had most of what the other girls posted. It's good you got off of it.

Girls,
would love feedback if anyone had high bpressure after the pill and if so for how long, im really worried mine wont go back to normal (onky raised the month before i stopped). SILKE i read that your bp was high in your earlier posts , did that lower and if so how long after as you know this month is my third month mark and its still 150/100 and its scaring the wits out of me that its gonna be like that forever.ALOS LEFT BREAST PAIN today on day 10 after my period, never had this before and im scared....

First I would like to thank to all girls for their postings here. I am so grateful for finding this site so soon after I started taking Yasmin.
Actually, I started taking Yasmin 2 days ago, and the reason to look in the net for its side effects was my last night experience. I woke up in the middle of the night, with my heart trying to go out of my chest, feeling enourmously scared and panicked without a reason, being unable to control my body and thoughts. I have spent the next few hours thinking that I was going to die, or get insane. Also I was feeling very dizzy and had nausea.
Today, I still feel as if I have been heavily intoxicated with a bad drug (haven't tryed any drugs before, but I imagine it feels like that).
I have never experienced anything like this before - I am very positive and outgoing person and my life is deffinitelly very happy at the moment and not stressed, so there is no other reason for the horrible night I've had but this pill - Yasmin.
The package is already in the wastebin, and I am considering myself happy for finding out so soon about the terrible side effects of this pill.
Once again - thank you girls for sharing your experiences. Wish you good luck with getting your lives back to normal.
As for me - I have appointed my bf to be my new BCP - I am sure that he can do this better than any chemicals.
All the best,
Nina

Dear Linzi,
Firstly throw away your pill packet, i too was just like you i went to the er three times thought i was having a heart attack and it was just full blown anxiety attack and the other lovely numbness side effects of this poison.
I too couold not work, thought i was going to die in the middle of the night, had constant death thoughts, could not cpe etc.
THERE IS HOPE, this week i am 10 weeks off this poison they call yasmin and i am feeling sooo much better. The anxiety is a lot better, the paranoia is all but gone and when ifirst was off yasmin i could not even walk past my letter box i was so fatigues and could never work out why. It took me weeks of just waslking slowly each day ( to help my anxiety) and then this past week i have managed a 5kilometer walk each day with my children (CHRISSY you would be s proud) and i am feeling like i am getting my life back. IT IS SLOW and that first two months if it were not for the girls here i dont think i could have done it, but think of it this way you stop the pill, and then you just let your body recover. If you continue taking this pill then its just another day, week month that you continue to let this hell control your body.
antidepressants are not the answer , try something natural, are you living in australia, if so i will give you some names of the things that i took, i understand you feel you need something but trust me give yourself a few months and you wont be 100% but you will be on the way to being you again.
Good Luck
Lisa
p.s all symtoms are worse at ovulation time and te week of your period remember that.
and thanks to all the girls that have constantly been there for me i could not have come this far ( and i have a way to go) without you all.......

You girls have no idea how thankful I am that I found this site. Short history - I'm 33 with four children and was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst on my right ovary and a fluid filled cyst on my left 04 November 2004. My gyn put me on Yasmin because she said that my symptoms were typical of high estrogen levels and that by boosting my progestin the cysts would dissolve. She said that without a blood draw so I insisted on one and she ordered it but also told me to start the Yasmin anyway. I wouldn't be taking the white pills, however, she wanted me to continue the next pack to keep the progestin level high. I started that assuming I was doing the right thing. Three weeks later I heard nothing about my blood draw so I called. My estrogen level was fine which meant I had no idea what caused my cysts or what would make them go away. SO, I called the doctor who said I'd have to make a consultation appointment and that ended up being 30 Jan. 2006. Yes, I have to wait three more weeks to see her. I'm NOT happy, but I am also very sick.
For four years I've been HEAVILY involved in kickboxing and weight lifting and now I can barely get out of bed. I've been throwing up like I'm pregnant, nauseous like I'm pregnant, getting migraines like I have a tumor, and appetite? HA! I can't stand the sight or smell of food. Girls, you talk about an eater ~ I can get down! Sadly, I haven't worked out since October because of the cysts making it painful so I decided to hit the gym last night and I even went light on my weights. Nope. Left early...had to puke. In addition to having PTSD and OCD, I now have depression because I'm so SICK all the time.
Someone, please tell me that this will go away or that I'm doing the right (or even wrong) thing. I read that someone's back looked like a warzone. OMG, my FACE does. I'm VERY picky about my face and hair ~ my hair has fallen out in bird nest clumps and my face is a map of the US. It's SO depressing. WHY? I'm 33 and I've NEVER had a health problem and now with two STUPID little cysts, my world has crumbled.
So, is this Yasmin side effects? The vomiting, migraines, my eyes not being able to move without losing equilibrium, my face becoming a connect the dots trick, food becoming the enemy...it really feels like I'm pregnant but TRUST that I've not had sex. It's too painful from the cysts.
HHEELLPP...
Love in advance -
KiDS

Have any of you switched to another pill? If so, what has worked for you? Also-for the girls who experienced symptoms of depression...have any of you taken any thing for that? I need to shake this feeling of anxiety and depression. I feel like I don't want to ever be alone-that is not normal for me-at all. Let me know what worked for you all...

I went off Yasmin 4 months ago. While my period returned quickly after quitting and has been regular, the abdominal pain/cramping, greasy hair, acne (I never had acne in the past), and mild mood swings are persisting into month 5. I have especially strong abdominal pain in the morning when I wake up, which subsides a little after I urinate. Does anyone have any advice for how I can speed up my body's process of returning to 'normalcy?' The greasy hair and skin are especially frustrating, and the abdominal pain is uncomfortable. Is there some herbal supplement or something that could help??
