I just started taking Yasmin last month. Throughout the month I couldn't realise why I wasn't my self at all. I was extremely anti-social, which is extremely out of my character. I was waking up feeling depressed not even wanting to get out of bed. I would cry at the drop of a hat! I was in the grocery store getting some vitaman B12, which just so you know does help with your mood and temprorarily was the only thing that would. I would also CONSTANTLY feel hungry, to the point of eating double the amount I regularly could. In the past month I have gained about 5 pounds, and I am very active.
This past week I haven't been taking them because I have been on my period, and I notice I actually wake up in a good mood, and feel so much happier. My appetite is back to normal after a few days, i guess cause I wasnt on the pill that long. I'm defintly going to try something else because I just didn't feel my self at all. What you guys are describing is exactly how I would feel... and I was afraid it would cause problems between friendships, and my relationship with my boyfriend. Defintly don't recommend this pill at all.

I have been on Yaz for almost 3 months, and have had reverse side effects. They said that it will help with PMS, Acne, and shorter periods. NONE of these things are true. PMS: I have been crying on the drop of a dime. I am barely ever in a good mood anymore, and people are starting to say things to me at work. I am MISERABLE. I am irritated easily, VERY paranoid, with no reason to be, and am picking fights with everyone, again, with no reason. It is driving my boyfriend crazy. ACNE: I had pimples here and there before I started this birth control, but now it has gotten VERY bad. It is all over my face and I feel helpless. Shorter Periods? Yeah right! Before I started Yaz, I had periods lasting for at most 4 days. My periods since Yaz have been up to 7 days! AND they start early...I have 2 pills left and I just got my period today. I am getting off this pill IMMEDIATELY, I am going to try Lo-Estrin next, hopefully it'll work better than Yaz!

Hi everyone, I've been off Yaz for two weeks now and have had severe depression, emotional numbness, anxiety, muscle weakness, migraines, and on and on. The symptoms are actually getting worse in some ways since I went off the Yaz.

I'm hoping someone can tell me whether they've had any success in going on another birth control pill after Yasmin/Yaz in order to stabilize side-effects of depression and anxiety, which are what freaks me out the most. I've been off Yaz for two weeks now and if anything my side-effects have gotten worse. I'm seeing a doctor and trying to figure out what's going on, but in the meantime I am desperate to feel like myself again. I'd rather not go on anything else hormonal for the long-term, but I'm considering going back on an older, completely different prescription (Loestrin) which didn't cause me any psychological side-effects. One of my doctors says it should be fine, but the other doesn't want me to do it. Has anyone else felt an improvement in depression and anxiety from going onto a different pill prescription? Thanks for your help!!

I am so glad I found this posting b/c I thought I was going CRAZY while on Yasmin. I was on another pill for the past 10 years and never experienced any problems, but then I was spotting a lot, so my OB-gyn switched me to Yasmin. I can not tell you the hell I was going through this past month. I am usually always in a good mood, and I was experiencing an out of control feeling of anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. I am also so dizzy all the time. I have also been very nauseous in the mornings. I did not understand what was going on and I thought I was losing my mind. I was crying uncontrollably and being very mean to my friends and family. I am so glad I have read these postings and have been off Yasmin for 8 days. I am going to the store to get some B6 and magnesium to start repairing my body. I feel for all of you ladies out there and hope we can all feel better soon!! Take care.

Hi,
I am so astonished to have found this site. I have just started taking yasmin, and have been bleeding for 3 weeks straight. I thought that may be my body just needed time to get used to this particular pill, as I have been off the pill for a few years. Since taking Yasmin, I feel very nauseated and tired, and am not in such a good mood. I have been getting overbearing migraines......and can't get up sometimes because my head hurts to much. Positives were that my breasts grew a little (i am very small) and my skin cleared aswell. I'm not sure whether to keep going with it or stop it completely and try something else. I am under a bit of stress at the moment, so was thinking that may be that was the cause of my symptoms, but now am starting to think it is the Yasmin.
