I didn't know that taking a simple BC pill could cause all of these problems and symptoms. I recently started taking Yasmin again after being off of it for a year, and now I am just realizing the changes it makes in my personality and lifestyle. Why didn't my doctor catch this when I was having problems with anxiety and depression a year ago? Instead she just gave me another pill to take (lexapro), which was obviously only to counteract the side effects from the Yasmin.
Now that I am taking it again for the last month, I am starting to get pissy and moody over small things that haven't bothered me for the last year. My libido is completely gone which is causing my boyfriend to think that he is doing something wrong....and I hardly have the motivation to do anything anymore other than lay around. Also my boobs are in such pain that I have begun walking around holding both of them in my hands to protect them from getting bumped!!! How could one little pill cause all of these crazy problems????
One side effect I have not read about though...Has anyone ever noticed any type of musky/fishy odor that only comes right after intercourse? I have gone to the doctor about this and she can't come up with anything that is causing this. I have been tested for all STD's, and given a UA to rule out bladder infections, and she also did a culture to see if I have a yeast infection....all of these came back negative....the problem only started in the last month when I started the Yasmin again!!!
Do you think this pill could be the stinky cause?? I would appreciate anyone's comments being that my doctor can't seem to find the problem and refuses to admit that Yasmin could be what is causing over half of the symptoms I have had!!!!

To those of you asking about tingling/ burning in your face pre and post yasmin. I experienced this both during and after yasmin. I was on it 3 months. It managed to dehydrate me especially in my face. I have very oily skin and hair. The yasmin took away the oils in my face and hair, even the pores on my nose closed up. My skin felt swollen and sensitive like a light sunburn at times (tingly) shooting pains in my cheeks, jaw aching (Im a clencher i dont know if this was stress related.) Also my hair texture changed less oily, thin dry and brittle also my scalp was real sensitive i couldnt even wear my hair in a clip or ponytail without severe scalp pain. Needless to say it was falling out all over the place but it has let up now. (I took prenatal vitamins while this was happening to keep it growing fast.) I had lots of other symptoms too, been off the evil little pill 3 months now. Slowly getting better. I am an RN and I think this pill is bad news. I took ortho novum 777 for years with no problems, no side effects. I thought they were all the same. I cannot believe the LIFE CHANGING effects this pill has caused me and so many other people.

HI EVERYONE, THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR SIDE EFFECTS FOR THE YASMIN PILL. I'VE BEEN TAKING THIS PILL FOR 9 MONTHS AND I AM JUST REALIZING THE EFFECT IT IS HAVING ON MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN VERY MISERABLE FOR THE LAST 8 MONTHS. I'VE HAD CRYING FITS, ANGRY FITS, AND ANY OTHER FIT YOU CAN THINK OF. I WAS ON THE DEPO BEFORE THIS AND IT TOOK A YEAR AND A HALF FOR ANY REAL SIDE EFFECTS BOTHERED ME. I WAS TESTED FOR GALL BLADDER AND THE VALVE IN MY LIVER IS ENLARGED. THE DOCTOR IS SAYING IT COULD BE FROM MEDICATION. WELL I AM BELIEVING IT IS THIS EVIL LITTLE PILL I'VE BEEN TAKING. I'VE HAD MY EYES CHECKED BECAUSE OF BLURRY VISION AND I'VE HAD MY DOCTOR TREAT FOR KIDNEY PROBLEMS BUT I THINK IT IS THE PILL NOW THAT I READ THESE POSTINGS. I AM GOING TO MY GI SPECIALIST IN 2 HOURS AND THIS SITE HAS GAVE ME A LITTLE INFORMATION TO FEEDBACK WHAT COULD BE WRONG. THE BIGGEST THING IS EVERY SITUATION I'VE BEEN IN LATELY HAS BEEN A LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE THAT WAS REALLY BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION BECAUSE OF THIS LITTLE EVIL PILL. I'VE SCARED MYSELF TO BELIEVE I AM DYING AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. MY HUSBAND SAID WE ARE GOING TO COUNSELLING REAL SOON. BUT NOW I THINK I AM GOING TO STOP THIS LITTLE PILL TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS FIRST. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Hello All,
Not to discount the individual experience of the last post, I feel it important to remind readers of this site of the many many women who like myself developed devastating symptoms (depression, anxiety, vertigo etc) OVER A YEAR AND A HALF after they began taking it. Like the previous post, if I had found this site during my first year and a half on yasmin I would have thought 'those poor women, thank god it hasn't affected me like that'.
The point is this...I stopped taking yasmin 2 years ago after realising it was the cause of my mental health problems (with no history of such) and can thankfully say I am now back to my 'old self' i.e before yasmin. I have made it my mission to educate all women I know about this pill as I truly believe it is poison. Of all the women I know who have taken it I am yet to hear a positive story.
Please don't delay...I would not wish my experience on my worst enemy. I won't be happy until this evil pill is off the market.
On a clinical level, remember this...Yasmin is a very young pill and consequently does not have the clinical trials data to fall back on. In my last 2 years of research of the contraceptive pill (& my background is science) I am yet to come across a pill that has received such negative a reception as yasmin/yas.
I myself will never go on another pill. To know how your entire being can change, your perceptions of the world, your relationships...all because of a little pill. The power that little pill has is terrifying.
I wish all women recovering from this pill all the very best. I have been where you are and am now on the other side. Each day is a step closer to the real healed you. Be strong and be sure to talk about how you're feeling.
Take care
