I am glad to have read the post below me.

From the majority of posts on this forum, it makes it seem as though Yasmin is an evil poison that the medical community is using to destroy women. I was seriously frightened after reading all the comments. While I do believe all these women about the negative effects of Yasmin, there must be some out there who are pleased with this pill. Everyone's body is different. I have been on it for only 5 days now, so I can't really say anything yet.

I will report back after 3 months or so, unless I have gone bald, blind, insane and bed ridden with head-to-toe pain at that time. I guess that could happen but I really hope it will simply calm my awful menstruation and help my husband and I delay pregnancy while we work on being able to afford to at least take care of ourselves.

Yes, I reported my side effects to the FDA as well as to Berlex. its really important to do so. I don't know how else we'll get this off the market. I've been horrified with how many and how horrible they have suffered. It is disgusting actually. I am 2/3 reading Kevin Trudeau's book on Natural Cures-and honestly at first I thought it just wreaked of Conspiracy Theory and now, I am learning that so much of what he's documenting is true! For example-CODEX-this will take all our vitamins and natural supplements and make them only available through and by prescription! Talk about monopoly. I hear that this is already the case in Europe and has been for some time. It means, you will need a prescription for Vitamin C! And it will be costly!

Now after reading through all of this. After suffering personally the last 9 months, after seeing how many women's symptoms are similar and all of them being told by their Doctors that it could not be Yasmin-I AM CONVINCED! The RN I just saw tried to get me to take Nexium which is also on www.worstpills.org website. In addition to Yasmin. I was so mad. I know this isn't Heartburn. Not when the heart murmur started. I am starting to think the entire medical community thinks all women are morons telling eveyrone its stress and anxiety--totally discounting our symptoms. I've come across 5 articles now on heart disease and women and all 5 expressedly talk about just this-how women are not taken seriously ---misdiagnosed 3 to 5 times and after costly exams, trips to the ER-they actually have heart attacks. Pisses me off. More than that, there are/have been moments at night when I lie awake and think about all of you, wondering what part of the world you are in, how this has effected your quality of life, all our abilities to trust, our familes, our work....and finding your responses during stressful times is so uplifting. I pray for each and everyone of you. I'm sickened that this drug-Yasmin and now its sister Yaz ever made it to the market. Based upon a couple of other's women's entries, I would join an effort to bring lawsuit.

The American Medical Association is currently working to pass a law to make it even more difficult to sue the pharmaceutical companies....nice huh?

Guest 22505-

I really feel yasmin knocks peoples hormones so far out of whack that it takes a long time to get them back in check. I would say to get your hormone levels drawn (I feel the salivary tests are more accurate than blood draws, though there is controversy in the medical community about this.) I am talking from experience as my blood hormone tests came back "normal" but my salivary tests came back low. I have been working with my OB and endocrinologist who are finding me referrals on NATURAL hormone replacement. I have actually just started some natural replacement and feel like my symptoms might be starting to improve. I really feel like this is the first step though, get your hormones tested. You can order a salivary test online through ZRT labs by going onto www.salivatest.com. I ordered the hormone profile I This tests all of your basic hormones. You do not have to have a doctors prescription to order the test unless you live in california, but if you want to try to get it covered under your insurance you would have to have a doctor give you a diagnosis code. I just paid for the test myself and then showed them to my doctors when I received the reports back. Then you can work with your doctors to figure out where to go from there. The tests are a little pricey at 150.00 but have been totally worth it to me in understanding what was going on with my body. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask me. Meanwhile hang in there, I have been off yasmin for 5 months now and things are still slowly improving, however I have renewed hope that this natural therapy is speeding up the process.
Bitter RN.

Hi everyone! WOW! You all sound so familiar. I went off yasmin 9 months ago and still have heart palpitations(pvcs), especially one week prior to my period. I was on it for one year, I have had all the tests done and everything is normal. I also developed mono on top of all this! My blood pressure has been elevated and my heart rate has been up and down. It has been so depressing I have actually started seeing a psychiatrist. This is NASTY!!!!! None of my doctors have given credence to the fact all this happened after I stopped taking Yasmin and I kept telling everyone that was what the matter was. I can't wait for the medical community to figure this one out!

To the guest below, I have to emphatically tell you that your nurse is WRONG. I called BERLEX myself, (the distributor of Yasmin) and they admitted to me that ANXIETY IS A SIDE EFFECT in some women. I think you can tell by the posts on this board that what some women experience as a side effect, others do not. That doesn't in any way though negate your side effects and I really wish the people in the medical community wouldn't have such a flippant attitude towards their patients. It took about 3 full days for me to feel "normal" again after stopping this pill. Give it a little while longer.
