i want my body back!! i've been on b/c for the past 4 years. 3 Yasmin 1 yaz. i feel so stupid that i did not notice what it was doing to me . my side effects were no where as bad as everyone else's, but one thing is for sure, i have NO SEX DRIVE AT ALL!! I feel so bad for my husband. For the past three years i have been totally against having sex and always have to force myself. this is not normal for a 26 year old old who has a wonderful, good looking husband who i love with all my heart. my chest gets sore a lot as well. i just want to get off of these pills already so i can be myself with out chemicals interfering in my life. we're going to try condoms for a while until my husband can go in for a vasectomy. i wish there were more birth control options out there that won't screw u up.

I started taking Yaz 2 years ago after my son was born. I didn't have any side effects for a long time and was generally happy with the pill. About a year after being on Yaz I started getting horrible anxiety and depression. It was really beginning to interfere with my life. I always felt on edge, my heart was constantly racing, I felt down, starting binge eating, etc. I also started noticing that my blood sugar was out of wack. I became hypoglycemic and had to eat little snacks every hour to keep myself from having my blood sugar drop too low. I sometimes even had to take a glucose tablet. My thoughts were always racing. I felt like I was going crazy. After going to my PCP and a psychiatrist and not getting any relief from the way I was feeling, I took it upon myself to stop taking Yaz to see if that made a difference. Well, since stopping Yaz my anxiety, depression, and hypoglycemia has completely disappeared. I feel happy again, normal and healthy. I have gained a few pounds and my skin is an oily mess, but I would much rather deal with that than the hell I was dealing with before. I'm not big on taking medicine unless I absolutely have to and this experience has only made me feel stronger about that. I think I will go back to using condoms and give my body a break. (forever)

I have been off YAZ now for almost a month.
I still have anxiety, but nowhere near as bad.
Did you know YAZ can cause upper repertory infections? I had 2 at one time. I thought it was just the cold season. And if Getting a PAP once a year isn't bad enough, YAZ can cause your test fail. in other words you have to have another. YUP! All from the YAZ most of this is on their site and on the listed warnings and side effects. For me YAZ meant Anxiety I stopped taking it one week into my 6th month. I feel a bit better everyday.
I just hate to think that I got put on Zoloft and Xanax because of my BCP
and now I have to battle getting off the pills to feel like me again. I have done a lot of research and talked to a lot of people. Its not just YAZ its many other birth controls. well... there are always condoms.

If you don't like having sex, take Yaz... if you want to kill your sex drive completely and then try to force yourself to have sex (it's very painful) take Yaz... if your just trying to take a good birth control that doesn't mess with your moods too much and gives you a light cycle, Yaz is perfect. Unfortunately for me, I started taking it right before I got married. I stopped 2 weeks ago and feel fantastic! Goodbye sexless marriage! FREEDOM!!! Really, though, it's not just Yaz that does that.. almost all birth control pills will. A recent study came out saying that it puts you in pregnancy mode which makes you not only less sexually driven, but also less attracted to your partner. Check it out at ****** in the health section. I'm sticking to condoms... oh, side effect of getting off the pill, SORE nipples... anyone else experience this... I'm worrying a bit about pregnancy....
