I have been on Yaz for over a year. I loved it at first b/c my moodiness was gone. My periods became shorter and shorter but then I stopped having periods all together. It has been 9 months without a period. I went to a GYN 4 months back and she said its okay not to have a period, but then I went to a different one a week ago and now I am having blood work and Ultra sounds. I have stopped the pill. I was completely normal before I got in this pill and now all of a sudden my cervical lining is very thin and I could have problems getting pregnant now. It is heart crushing b/c I am married now and want to have a kid so bad. I wish I never took the pill. I am a nurse and have been reading the physicians guide to medications at our hospital and i think i have been having problems from it for a while and never put 2 and 2 together. migraines, problems wearing my contacts. I find out this evening my results from my US and blood work. I would really do some research before you take it.

Ive been taking yaz for almost a year. I stopped taking the pill two days ago. I am currently on a heart monitor due to anxiety/panic attacks. I felt anxiety feelings soon after taking Yaz but it was not bad enough to stop. Now it is BAD! I am (was) very healthy (mentally and physically) and happy, and have never experienced anxiety until yaz. I also have a painful lump in my lower back. I have had a MRI which showed mild disc bulge. I felt the lump in April 2008, it is now 11/2008 and it is still there. I wake up stiff and in pain. Doc thinks its a muscle issue. I"m starting to think it is the Yaz. I also have had no sex drive, very dry and painful sex. Yeast infections and bacteria infection which I have never had. I cannot sleep. I am struggeling every day to be normal. I feel totaly out of control. I do not recommend Yaz. I cannot wait to be me again!

Just food for thought, with any hormone that you take into your body you will have side effects and it will change your body. Not just Yaz, but all birth control. There are blood clot and stroke risks with all of it if you look up other brands. Best bet to not suffer is to not take any

i want my body back!! i've been on b/c for the past 4 years. 3 Yasmin 1 yaz. i feel so stupid that i did not notice what it was doing to me . my side effects were no where as bad as everyone else's, but one thing is for sure, i have NO SEX DRIVE AT ALL!! I feel so bad for my husband. For the past three years i have been totally against having sex and always have to force myself. this is not normal for a 26 year old old who has a wonderful, good looking husband who i love with all my heart. my chest gets sore a lot as well. i just want to get off of these pills already so i can be myself with out chemicals interfering in my life. we're going to try condoms for a while until my husband can go in for a vasectomy. i wish there were more birth control options out there that won't screw u up.

I started taking Yaz 2 years ago after my son was born. I didn't have any side effects for a long time and was generally happy with the pill. About a year after being on Yaz I started getting horrible anxiety and depression. It was really beginning to interfere with my life. I always felt on edge, my heart was constantly racing, I felt down, starting binge eating, etc. I also started noticing that my blood sugar was out of wack. I became hypoglycemic and had to eat little snacks every hour to keep myself from having my blood sugar drop too low. I sometimes even had to take a glucose tablet. My thoughts were always racing. I felt like I was going crazy. After going to my PCP and a psychiatrist and not getting any relief from the way I was feeling, I took it upon myself to stop taking Yaz to see if that made a difference. Well, since stopping Yaz my anxiety, depression, and hypoglycemia has completely disappeared. I feel happy again, normal and healthy. I have gained a few pounds and my skin is an oily mess, but I would much rather deal with that than the hell I was dealing with before. I'm not big on taking medicine unless I absolutely have to and this experience has only made me feel stronger about that. I think I will go back to using condoms and give my body a break. (forever)

My 14 year-old Daughter was prescribed YAZ for her acne. After the first 48 hours daughter began to have severe leg spasms, mood swings, anxiety attacks, numbness in hands and feet, heart palpitations, and migraines so severe that she had to miss school for 1 entire week. At first I didn''t put it all together but by day 5 I took her off the pills and waited....the symptoms went away but did leave her with a 3-week period.

This is a bad, BAD medication. When I was a teen girl I was on traditional b/c pills and I never, ever had any kind of reaction like this.

I contacted the FDA and filled out a complaint report.

Wow, I am so excited to find this site. I have been on Yaz for 9 days now, & I am stopping today. I am shaky, cranky, bloated, having heart palpitations, extreme head pressure, back pain. On top of all that I feel like it is the week before my period times 10. My patience is very short & I am having angry thoughts that I have never had before. I thought it was just me. I am so glad I'm not alone. My eyes also feel pressure & hurt. My husband said that after a few days of taking it I have seemed withdrawn & in la la land. I am also very clumsy, dropping things all the time, & forgetting little things. This birth control is not good!!!!

I have only been on this pill for a week and the side effects have begun to drive me crazy and I mean that literally!! On my way to work this morning I had a panic attack, I've never had anything like that before. I started to cry while eating breakfast and then in return I just became angry. My poor boyfriend has had to deal with me as well.... I'll be so nice to him and then 20 minutes later I'm completely angry about life and him and everything he does! He could do the littlest thing and I'm so upset. My doctor switched me to this from orthotricylin because I have really bad ovarian cysts and she was hoping this would help...obviously not! I went to the health center at work and talked to them about it, and said that there was no way this could be related to Yaz...because Yaz is supposed to be the latest and greatest thing and make it so you have no mood swings...that is completely wrong. I also never had problems with nausea, now every morning it takes me 3 hours to not feel nauseous and to be able to even eat just a piece of toast.
I have been trying to get ahold of my doctor to see if I can stop taking the pill now because I do not think I can go through 2 more weeks of this or I believe I will be single and crazy!
Please if you have stopped taking this pill, how long did it take you to be a normal woman again?

After having a semi-break down yesterday which included 3 separate occasions of rage, suicidal thoughts, and crying jags, I have decided that one of my medications is at fault. I thought at first that it was the Klonopin that I started taking April 1st. This confused me because, after initially taking the Klonopin, I had a follow up with doc after two weeks and it was working great. I then got on Yaz around April 20th. In the last month, I have had increasing mood swings, horrible depression, complete exhaustion, inability to focus on anything, stomach aches, heart palpitations, soar throat, coughing, and my back has been killing me. The worst is the depression and bouts of rage. I was all set to blame it on the Klonopin until I read this site. Well, I'm going to axe the Yaz first and see if things improve. It makes sense though, I been feeling like I did in the worst time of pregnancy.

SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE IF I WANT TO PASS OUT, SO I WENT TO MY PRIMARY PHYSICIAN I HAD A CHEST X-RAY, EKG, LUNG SCAN(PERFURIN AND VENTILATION SCAN) AND A VENOUR DOPPLER ON MY LEGS AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST BLOOD TEST, EVERYTHING CAME BACK PERFECTLY NO CLOTS OR EMBOLISM, MY PRIMARY PHYSICIAN SAID I AM IN PERFECT CONDITION SHE ADVISE ME THAT WHEN I FEEL THIS WAY TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM IT HAS PAST 3 WEEKS AND I STILL HAVE THE SHORTNESS OF BREATH, NUMBNESS, HEAVY CHEST, AND ALL MY DOCTOR SAYS IS GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM BUT IF SHE DID NOT FOUND ANYTHING WHY DOES SHE WANT ME TO GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM ANY WAYS I DON'T THINK THEY'LL FIND ANYTHING WRONG (WELL SHE DID NOT FOUND ANYTHING) BUT THE THING IS THAT SHE TOLD ME I COULD STILL KEEP ON TAKING THE YAZ PILLS. AS I SAID I HAVE HAD FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS NOW SEVERE DIZZINESS( I GET REALLY REALLY BAD THAT I DO NOT KNOW WHATS WORST FOR ME NOW THE DIZZINESS OR THE SHORT OF BREATH AND NUMBNESS). I AM GOING TO MAKE A APPOINTMENT WITH MY OB TO SEE WHAT SHE THINKS. HAVE ANYONE OUT THERE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I HAVE? WILL THE SHORTNESS OF BREATH AND NUMBNESS GO WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS? DO I HAVE TO GET ADJUST TO YAZ? PLEASE SOMEONE OUT THERE IF YOU HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU DID TO FEEL BETTER? SHOULD I JUST STOP THE YAZ PILL? THANKS AND SOMEONE PLEASE ADVISE ME
