I have been taking YAZ for 2 months and just picked my new pack up to start tomorrow but they are going in the trash! I started doing research tonight on YAZ for the first time searching for answers of what could be wrong with me! I have had an MRI checking for MS, blood work checking for Lyme Disease, along with many other tests to try to determine why I am experiencing NUMBNESS is my hands, arms, legs, feet and face, and mostly on the left side. After all the tests have come back negative, I have been left with confusion and sadness wondering what could be wrong. Then I looked at YAZ side effects tonight, and what a realization! I am so sorry for all the women like me that have been going through this. This drug is terrible and should not be on the market. I was just married on July 12th and the happiest time of my life has been covered with the dark cloud called YAZ. No wonder I have felt so sad and so crazy. I started taking YAZ because I wanted to be better for my husband and not make him have to put up with my PMDD. However, I have become someone other than myself, someone who is angry and sad for no reason. Thank goodness I have realized what has been wrong. Now I can get to the marriage I have waited for all my life! Please, if you are taking YAZ, stop, and if you are thinking of starting it, DON"T!

Wow. I thought I was going crazy. I have PMDD and go through my 'psychotic' periods the week and a half before my period starts. I had the worst one ever last/this month. I don't think I have experienced anything this bad before. I started YAZ at the beginning of May. I tried Apri before and it caused me to have my period for 18 days, followed by 7 days of brown gunky blood and then my period for 15 days. On YAZ, my period lasted 11 days. I normally have a 5-8 day period which is very heavy. It was not as heavy, but it lasted longer with intermittent days of the brown gunky blood. I have also been experiencing more frequent panic attacks and depression. My stomach has been upset and my head has been hurting constantly. I am used to getting migraines, but not normal headaches. I have also experienced dizziness. One think I did not attribute to the YAZ is the change in my vision. But I read in a prior post that someone has had an issue with that also.
I have had the above symptoms because of other ailments, but they were basically gone, until I started the YAZ.

Ive been on Yaz since Oct 07.
--At first it was hell. I always got headaches b/c I have strabismus...but i got migraines. I work in a hospital so that was NOT fun at all.
Trying to do charts and all I saw was a blur, trying not to vomit due to the nausea (i get nausea with headaches), the lack of balance was also very attractive :).
--I also got a vaginal infection- I'm not sure if it was due to the pill, but I've never gotten it before. It went away after I had my period. I thought it was my period but after a while, i knew better.
--Also Ive been depressed, I don know if its due to the fast approaching one year anniversary of my nieces killing, or if that was the pill?
After all that mess is done with, I love the pill. It's just my body getting used to it. Ive never done BC before so this was an experience
I went to my OBGYN yesterday for a 4 month f/u on the pill and she was concerned about weight gain. well i LOST 8 lbs. I didn't expect that ha ha.
But the last month+ I've done really well. no migraines or anything!!! yayyyyy

I went on Yaz a year ago because i was having night sweats around my period while taking Mircette. Well, the sweats have mostly subsided, but I have had about 35 migraines this year compared to my usual 6 or so. It only recently dawned on me that the only thing to change in my life over the past year was my prescription to Yaz...And the migraines, they would last for days, especially in the days just before and after my period. It has been so unmanageable, even with my prescription migraine medicine.

I visit my Gyno in 2 days and can't wait to get off of this pill. I guess it is a great thing for some people, but it has been a burden for me this past year.
