Add me to the list of people who will never take this crap again. 38 years old, never been on birth control. My obgyn sang this pills praises about how it will help with my mood swings and severr cramps due to severe pms. The headaches were awful, by boobs doubled in size, I gained 4lbs in 1 week, moodiness, feelings of being out of control, depression worsened, felt crazy, angry, short tempered. Memory loss, my speech was affected. I'm normally a very decisive, direct communicator and I couldn't find words to complete a sentence. My short term memory was shot. I think I will stick with a few beers to get through my pms. This stuff was not worth it.

Yaz was my first birth control pill. I have been taking Yaz for the past 2 weeks and I just started my third week. The first week was Ok but I started feeling some side effects since last week: occasional cramping, often feel like throwing up, feeling down, and feeling moody. I called my obgyn and she asked that I try to cope up with the side effects for a month. She said I could take Tylenol for the cramps. If it becomes unbearable she is going to have me switch to the vaginal ring.

I am going to give it a month but if the symptoms don't go away I am going to switch to something else..

I was on Ortho Low for about 2 years after my son was born then switched over to Yaz because of all the "wonderful" benefits that it claims to have. After 3 months of being on Yaz, I started to feel like my head was in a fog and I felt overwhelmed. At first I thought it was just stress from work and home life but then my vision started getting blurry and I had a hard time focusing on things. I have never felt like this before and it took me a while to realize that it was Yaz that was causing it. I called my OBGYN and she confirmed that all of my symptoms (blurry vision, mood swings, feeling overwhelmed, loss of appetite) were things that she had heard from other paitents who have tried Yaz. So no more Yaz for me. I think doctors should do a better job at warning patients of the side effects of new drugs.

I've been taking Yaz since about October or November. I rarely ever had even a headache before taking Yaz, and I noticed that I began having migranes almost every day if not every day after beginning to take Yaz. I never even would have imagined that it could have been my BCP but after reading all of these reviews and having almost all of the side effects that these other women are having, I've decided that I need to talk with my obgyn about changing contraceptives.

Since starting Yaz I've had the following:

-Migranes every day or every other day

-Violent Mood Swings

- Feelings of being overwhelmed

- Fellings of extreme anger and rage

-Joint pain in my knees and hips

- Decrease in Sex Drive

-Emotional spells ( crying for no reason, or being sad for no reason)

-Blurred Vision

-Weight Gain

-Increase in cup size

-Painful Acne

I'm 21 years old. There should be no decrease in my sex drive. Now don't get me wrong. Yaz has it's good points as well, but for the most part, my experience with it has been negative. The good part about it is that my periods are regular, whereas before they were all over the place.
I've started fights with my boyfriend, when no fight or argument should have happened, and I've become filled with rage and anger at family gatherings.
It works for some people but for myself and many others, I see, it's not been very pleasant to take.

I am a 43 year young woman and have been on birth control for quite some time. Since they tell me I am approaching middle age, my OBGYN changed my BC to YAZ. After about 1 1/2 months, I was experiencing severe neck pain. I could not get comfortable and thought I just had to change my pillow. I went to my Chiropractor - nothing seemed out-of-sorts. The pain would still not go away. After another month, I became very ill. I had a wicked headache that would not go away and was very sensitive to light and sound. My husband came home from work one day and found me quite confused and slurring my words. He took me to the hospital and to make a long story short, I had (have) a blood clot in my brain. Now I realize I am "older" and am on other medications (none that were new to my repertoire) so there is a slight possibility that it could have been a combination of things. However, I find it hard to believe that this was just a coincidence. Maybe I survived to spread the word...

P.S. I am a non-smoker.

My partner insists that he's not drunk & he's just very tired. He has slured speech, incoherent, unsteady on his feet & drops off to sleep in the blink of an eye. Could it be something other that drink related? or is he just pretending to himself he's ok?
