So glad I found this site! I have been on zocor for several years and began having pains in my hips and had tension headaches. X-rays were taken and the dr. said I had arthritis in my neck and back, ok, I accepted that but what about my fingers, elbow, arm and shoulders? I know I have carpal tunnel in my right hand but getting on and off the toilet was very difficult with the pain. I could hardly move, my legs ached so bad. my memory was terrible, i thought old age! I am 55 years old! I have hot flashes, night sweats, don't sleep well, vision is getting blurry. I decided after reading everyones comments which sounded like I was writing them, to go off of zocor. Within 3 days I began feeling less achy. I do wear a brace on my hand for the carpal tunnel, which helps some but not totally. It has been a full week and i can move so much better. My hands and wrist are still sore but my arms and legs are feeling better. I just hope in weeks to come I feel alot better. We got back to the doctor the beginning of May so I am hoping he will agree with me for going off the medication. After all, it is my body!

My cardiologist advised me to take CQ10 with each dose of Zocor....I ran out of CQ10 and did not take it for 2 weeks. I then developed pain in my arms and legs with severe muscle weakness. I had trouble walking and keeping my balance. I stopped the Zocor and my muscles have improved after 2 weeks. This has been a frightening experience for me .

I am now in my 11th month of suffering severe side effects from 4+ months on Zocor. Muscles in arms and legs very weak...I can barely stand up. Most joints very painful and stiff. Even with exercise therapy, not much improvement noticed. I am retired, but this is no way to live. Please post IF anyone knows how to recover.

I am a 40 yr old male. I just started taking zocor a couple of weeks ago and have developed a rash on my arms and legs. The only medication I am taking is zocor and have taken nothing else except Amoxicilin within the last year.

This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Zocor. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Zocor, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.

Just got out of a 3-day stay in hospital because of Zocor.

Then hands started getting numb.
Then numbness started making its way up my arms and legs, with increased pain all over.
My GP’s an idiot, time to find a new one; I thought I was going to die.
“They” say it will take 2-4 weeks for things to settle down.
