I have many of the symptoms stated by readers. It started with general fatigue and muscle stiffness. I told the doctor that I have never felt this old before ( I am in my mid forties). I have gone from being healthy and fit to feeling old and fatigued. I have stopped Zocor after almost a year. I now have numbness and tingling in my right arm, legs ( including toes). My Doctor is trying hard to convince me that it could be because of diabetes when I have not been diagnosed as having diabetes? I am sure Zocor is the cause and the FDA needs to investigate. I do hope there are no long term repercussions!

I started taking 40 mg Zocor one week ago for the first time, I notice after about four days the top part of my right hand started having muscle spasms, today the left hand started doing the same thing. Thery occur about 8-10 times an hour and last a few seconds.I've read all of the above and haven't noticed anyone saying anything like this.

I've been taking Zocor past 2 yrs and i took my self off it due to side affects..muscle weekness and elbow pain in my right arm, I go to a orthopedic next week and might have to have surgery on it.
I belive in my heart that it came from taking Zocor since I read all the messages on here.I like to get emails from people that have any side affects from Zocor so I can send them to the FDA and get Zocor off the market.
Its Bad Drug and no dr cant tell me Zocor isnt the cuprit.

The following article in the WSJ may explain the reason for the significant number of Adverse Reactions to statin drugs.
Why You Can't Tell Where
Your Medication Was Made

Bananas come with those little stickers listing their country of origin. Why not pharmaceuticals?
That's what some consumers -- and even some physicians -- are asking since the Food and Drug Administration linked the deaths of 19 people to contaminated batches of the blood thinner heparin from China.

I encourage every patient with a bad experience taking statins to contact the FDA (see, July 1, 2008 posting for FDA contact info).
