I take a combo of Zoloft and Klonopin for anxiety. The medication helps control my anxiety problems, but now I suffer from severe headaches, upset stomach and weight gain. The biggest problem was my headaches. My Dr. suggested stretching exercises for my headaches and stiff neck. The stretching seemed to relieve my overall headaches, but would a trigger spot for an incredible flash of pain when I turned my head a certain way. I've found that resistant pressure seemed to help tremendously.
For example: If my headache was in a specific place just behind my left ear, I would place the heel of my left over the pain and push my head towards the heel of my hand and hold for ten seconds. If it was general tension in the back of my neck that is causing the pain, I would place the heel of my hand on my forehead and push my head toward my hand and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat as necessary. Hope this helps.
I see there are a lot people suffering from headaches so I thought I would share what kind of works for me. Does anyone else have any "works for me" stories?

I was on Celexa for about 5 weeks for panic attacks and anxiety but wasn't getting much better. My doctor switched me to Zoloft, I was on it about 10 days but I decided to discontinue it yesterday because it was causing extreme drowsiness, horrific headaches, weird crying spouts, and more anxiousness. Today, the first day being off Zoloft is harsh, I was in bed half the day and I feel like I'm in a dream and the headache is still there. Although , its about 630pm now and I feel a little better than earlier but not much. Hopefully tomorrow will be better? I'm also on Ativan.

My Doctor precribed a low dosage of zoloft last week to help me with my fibromyalgia. Supposely the serotonin amount in my brain will be altered. Does anyone else take zoloft for this condition? I also have mild sleep apnea so I am used to vivid dreams, but last night my dream was very bizarre to say the least. I felt like I was awake as I was aware of my surroundings, but as soon as I closed my eyes I heard people talking and auditory noises outside and in my room. Almost made me think my room was haunted because my decreased parents were having conversations with me. Very real-like and extremely weird. I also am experiences somewhat of a upset stomach and can hear normal stomach noises. In addition I have a slight headache at times. I question my Doctors choice of drug, due to the fact I have sleep apnea and I am always tired anyway. I am not compliant with my c-pap machine. Please let me know if anyone else has any of these side-effects and/or is receiving zoloft for fibromyalgia.

I took Zoloft for four days. A headache began soon after the first dose, and continued to worsen. By the end of the fourth day my head was throbbing and pounding. I could not continue taking the drug. It was unbearable. I stopped taking the drug, and my headache slowly subsided, but it took three days for the drug to get out of my system, and for the headache to go away.

I have been taking Zoloft for about six months now, and for the past six months I haven't had one menstrual period (this isn't unpleasant, but a little worrisome in its strangeness).
I am sixteen years old and I weigh 130 pounds. I take 200 mg of Zoloft (sertraline) every morning for depression. I am constantly in emotional turmoil internally, but I rarely have the motivation to express any of it, which leaves me a bottled-up mess.
I have gained about five pounds on Zoloft, and I exercise frequently and watch my diet in an attempt to avoid more gain. My emotions, ideals, thought patterns, and self image are all extremely volatile and they change constantly.
If I don't take Zoloft for one day, I feel slightly more energetic and I always have detailed, vivid dreams that night. If I don't take Zoloft for two days, I get a splitting headache, I am aggressive and histrionic, and I feel tense and hopeless. These disturbances are only slightly more unpleasant than how I feel when I take the medication; hence, I usually take it. However, if I gain one more pound while taking this, regardless of withdrawal effects, I will discontinue the Zoloft.

Have taken zoloft for 3 months, sometimes you don't know how well a drug does until you stop taking it. After the 3 months, I quit for two weeks. During my last 7 days after stopping the drug my head was buzzing, not a headache, but a irritating buzzing noise that would start and stop at any given time. Got back on the drug and the next day the buzzing stopped. I do feel better at 50mg, it's worth the money and time.

weight gain; tempomandibular tension; lethargy (but may just be my chronic fatigue??); my headache pattern has gone skyhigh!!! Help! My insurance won't pay for my Prozac; the generic makes me sick to my stomach, and so now my "relief" is Zoloft. I even went off birth control thinking that was making my headaches worse and causing the weight gain; and then I took a pregnancy test...none of the above...

I started taking zoloft about 2 years ago. I had to change to zoloft from paxil because it stopped working. I was put on it for being irritable and having major mood swings and anxiety.
-- By simplyjessica18 | Reply | Private Message meWhile on zoloft I have had terrible thoughts about things that could go wrong. I turned into some sort of hypocondriac. I also would get horrible headaches and convinced myself that I had brain cancer. I also had little motivation to do anything. I couldn't last at a job for more than a couple months because I had no motivation to go to work. When i first started taking it I had a hard time falling asleep. After a couple of months my sleeping patterns became normal, and my headaches went away.
Recently I started taking birth control and my old symptoms flaired up again. I now can not sleep at night. I stay awake all night and sleep all day, and have a continuous headache.
Has anyone else had these problems or side effects?
