Those of you that has experienced weight gain....do you think its because the Zoloft as increased your appetite? I can handel being tired and going to the bathroom all day... but I would be in worse shape if I gained weight....what else is more depressing!! My husband started Zoloft a few weeks ago for anxiet, and his main complaint is exhaustion. My OBGYN gave it to me for severe PMS.
Best of luck to everyone here....

I have been taking Zoloft for 4 years now, I had previously been on Prozac but experienced nightmares. I have had the dosage of the Zoloft increased 3 times and am currently at 100mg which I have been at for about a year. I am so glad I found this site, I too have the electrical shocks in my hear, slight tremors and tingling in my lips and left eye, but most disturbing is the gastric problems that have increase drastically in the last 2 months. After a CT, MRI and a gastroscope that found nothing I think I may have figures it out. It is a side effect of the Zoloft. I am not sure what I will do, I do not want to be depressed again.
Thank you so much for this website and for all of you who have posted.

Zoloft was in my system for three days before the horrible nightmare of "side effects" began.
Extremely stiff neck. Black diarreah. I wandered from room to room, afraid. I thought I had become crazy like a schizoprenic relative and that I would always be that way. I could not sleep for three days after discontinuing.
It had been prescribed to me because I had been having trouble breathing. After undergoing numerous tests including one which required me to inhale a radioactive substance, no physical cause was found. The quack who was filling in for my real doctor decided that I was depressed, and that the depression was "manifesting itself as anxiety". I had been treated for depression with Prozac 8 years prior, indeed have had episodes of depression all my life. I do not feel I was depressed. Anxious, yes. The quack would not put me on Prozac because he "didn't like it". Anti-anxiety medication? No, that would make too much sense. Besides, I would (Horrors!) never want to leave the house without it! So I suffered the horrible three day trauma that I still remember as "the night of the Zoloft".
DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

weight gain; tempomandibular tension; lethargy (but may just be my chronic fatigue??); my headache pattern has gone skyhigh!!! Help! My insurance won't pay for my Prozac; the generic makes me sick to my stomach, and so now my "relief" is Zoloft. I even went off birth control thinking that was making my headaches worse and causing the weight gain; and then I took a pregnancy test...none of the above...

I am an 18 year old male and i have been suffering from depression/anxiety since i was about 15 years old. I have been on prozac, celexa and now i am taking zoloft. i really liked the person i was on prozac but i had major side effects with anger. i would punch walls, freak out over little things and i was just constantly getting in fights at school. i then switched to celexa, and honestly i was not a fan. it didn't absolutely nothing for me. i sunk into a deep depression, got hooked on drugs, and couldn't get back on my feet. FINALLY my doctor realized that celexa was not working for me and decided to put me on zoloft. i have been taking it for about 2 months now. yeah i got off of the drugs but i am still very irritable. my sex drive has went down the drain. It is hard for me to even get an erection, let alone make it last. i want to switch med's but i am scared to try yet another drug. i thought for sure the third time would be the charm.
