Six Weeks on Simvastatin

I'm 74, have a Pacemaker, stroke 11 years ago with no effects, my doctor put me on simvastatin six weeks ago. I now have difficulty breathing, am weak and shaky, was in the hospital for a week, lots of tests, all came out normal. I've now stopped the statin drug -- how long does it take to get out of your system?
