Bad Bladder Infection

I have a bad bladder infection up high in the bladder,a urine test and culture didn't find it .so I had a cystoscopy, but took 2 months to get in.My question is, how long should it take for the this drug to start making me feel better, I have been on it for three days now and have had no change in the way I feel. I have had no side effects except pain in my back on the right side, up in the kidney area.
