I was on a prescription drug merry-go-round due to Toprol. My BP continued to increase along with the doc increasing the Toprol mg. Eventually the nightmares got so bad that my blood pressure would go through the roof. My sleep pattern was totally disrupted as well. My energy level also gradually went to a low level. After a severe nightmare that rose my BP to 200/112, I went to the doc who then ordered Norvasc.
On my own I stopped the Torprol, would not take the Norvasc, and on the next Dr visit had normal BP after being on a 24 hr monitor. The nightmares stopped, my energy level increased, and sleeping back to normal.
