Yasmin Breast Reduction Surgery, Family Genetics, Chronic Discomfort, Yeast Infection, Yeast Infections
I am 21 years old and was on Yasmin starting at age 18 and was switched to the generic form Ocella about a year ago. I was happy with Yasmin initially - I had no side effects after starting the pills, and for the first few months experienced no problems. However, around when I turned 19 (about 5 months after starting Yasmin) I gained over 10 lbs. I have always been naturally thin and my diet did not change. I thought, however, that perhaps it was due to stress, and I eventually lost about 5 lbs, but have since been unable to lose the other 5.
Then, about 8 months after starting Yasmin, I began getting reoccurring yeast infections. From July 2009 to now I have had a yeast infection occur about every 2 months. The chronic discomfort led to multiple doctor visits, each of which ruled out any other causes for the reoccurring infections other than my birth control.
Finally, when I started the Yasmin I was a 32D. About the same time I gained the 10 lbs I also went up a cup size 32DD, which did not change after I lost weight. On a young woman who is only 4'10" and just under 100lbs, my original 32D breasts were already unnatural looking, and the 32DD obviously looked even worse. However, I thought that because I was already on BC for several months it couldn't be attributed to that, but rather to family genetics (all the women in my family are large-breasted). So, a year ago (July 2009), I underwent breast reduction surgery and went down to a comfortable 32C. I was beyond happy, until recently...my breasts have gone back up to a 32D. This is supposedly medically impossible since I went got my period 9 years ago (breasts aren't supposed to grow past 4 years after the start of puberty) and had the surgery. The only causes are birth control, pregnancy (definitely not pregnant), or a medical condition (which I do not have). I am beginning to think this sudden growth could be contributed to the switch to Ocella or just being on this specific pill. I am extremely upset, but I am unsure if after being on this form of BC for 2 1/2 years my breasts could grow as a result of the pill at this point. I am strongly considering going off this form of BC to see if my breasts go back to a 32C. ... more »

If anyone else has had breast growth after being on Yasmin/Ocella for a long amount of time, please let me know.
