Amoxicillin Back Doctor, Leg Pain, Benadryl, Urticaria, Family Doctor
My son was on Amoxicillin for about 7 days than he started to get rashes/hives all over his body, it would go away sometimes and than come back. Doctor took him off Amoxicillin and had him stay on Benadryl but didn't help. He than got a fever and his right foot hurts and he can not walk. We went to the ER and they said he might have been allergic to amoxicillin or something else and that the rashes would go away but they haven't. After seeing the family doctor again, she said he has "Urticaria" and that his rashes are probably caused by allergies and it will come and go; nothing can be done. She couldn't explain his leg pain which doesn't go away. He has rashes for about a week and his foot still hurts. Things don't add up though. What do you think? ... more »

I don't think it is "Urticaria" and more of a side effect to Amoxicillin but he has been off it for like 5 days but the side effects continue. Should I see a specialist?
