Baclofen Burning Sensation in Legs, Focal Seizures, Tension Headaches, Neuropothy, Gait Disturbance
Took for three days for muscle spasticity, numbness, headaches and pain. Problems started with mild burning sensation in legs (where I have stroke weakness and numbness). Started feeling loopy and over the course of the weekend my pain went from a predosage baseline of 2-4 to an excruciating 5-10. My legs felt like they were on fire at all times, severe disabling headaches, my neuropothy kicked back up like crazy with random stabbing pains, I went from 1-3 focal seizures (when taking klonopin) to 10-20 a day, severe double vision, lethargy, dizziness and an episode of fainting that left me aware but unable to move for 30 minutes and was extremely sick for hours after. I felt like I was tripping on acid the whole time to boot and my insomnia was severely inflamed even though I had just restarted restoril and was horribly sleep deprived. Oh, and I made the horrid mistake of driving to the store (as NONE of my other meds have ever impaired my driving) and it's a miracle I didn't get a ticket or run into a tree. ... more »

It took a full 24-36 hours of going back on klonopin before all symptoms subsided. What stinks is I feel the need to try another three day stint once the weather cools off (it also severely inflamed my heat sensitivity) so I can tell my neuro I gave it a good go before giving up on it. This stuff is supposed to be the best right? What sucks is klonopin works great for my muscle spasticity, vasodilation ( an issue with my TIA's), seizures, tension headaches, muscle pain, gait disturbance ( abit) and stress BUT my neuro can't prescribe it to me and says I need to get it from my family doc or a shrink. A) My family clinic is run by a bunch of med students with their heads up their rear and only prescribe the klonopin for anxiety and have NEVER heard of its other benefits and B) no thanks :) I don't need psychiatric treatment in my med records :).
Anyway, from I have read, Baclofen works great for most people BUT there is subset of the population that is horrible for. I even read a bunch of case reports where people were hospitalized or died after taking it,.
If your doctor or neuro prescribes this to you - proceed with caution - it could make your life better or it could make it hell.
