I tried taking Fosamax after being diagnosed with extreme Osteopenia but had stomach pain and reflux for several days after taking it. Just when I started to feel better, it was time to take it again SO my doctor prescribed Boniva saying it was once monthly. I took my first pill exactly as directed and no problems the first day. Several days later I started having severe back pain and hip pain for no reason at all. I didn't even consider it might be he Boniva. I took my 2nd Boniva the following month and and my hip pain got worse, along with knee pain and also head and neck pain. I felt like I had been hit by a bus. Now it's time for my 3rd pill but I've been so miserable that I believe it's the Boniva. I feel like I have an extreme case of the flu with swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and have had continual headaches and pressure at the base of my skull for over a month now. I have been an avid walker but can't seem to walk my normal routes without pain in my knee and hip. I think this medicine is poison!
