Return of Symptoms?
My doctor has prescribed this for ear itching, but the itch returns every month or two. Is this normal? I've never had this ear itch problem until last summer.
Avgconsum - Burows solution can help ear itching. Just so you know-Many antibiotics are also ototoxic- meaning they can damage the inner ear. External Otitis (aka Outer Ear Infection and Swimmer's Ear) can be caused by either a fungal or bacterial infection- the only way to know which one you have is to test the ear fluid. Antibiotics do not work on fungal infections. Burows solution (aka Domboro Otic) is non-ototoxic and works on BOTH kinds of infections. I learned about all this the hard way- I had a bad reaction to the antibiotic I was prescribed. I was switched to Burow's solution and it did the trick. I also used silocone ear plugs when I showered as it helps to keep the canal free of water. I wish I ould have know about this simple safe solution as here I sit a month and a half later after the antibiotic reaction not knowing if I have been permanently damaged from it. I was initially prescribed a Z Pack (aka Zithromax and Azithromycin). I experienced a vestibulotoxic reaction which adversely effect my vestibular balance mechanisms. Ototoxic medications are no joke- losing you balance and effects to your vision from these drugs can srew your life up permanently- so why not take the safe route and ask your doctor for Burows Solution (aka Domboro Otic) instead of an antibiotic. Baucsh & Lomb makes the Burows solution I was prescibed. Wish someone ould have warned me. :(
