Skipping My Period.....

Has anyone on desogen ever successfully skipped their last week of "sugar" pills and moved right to a new pack in hopes of skipping their period that month? I've read about doing so, but I've also heard that there are some kinds and brands that this should not be done with. I would appreciate any feedback. thanks
