After reading these reports I worked with a psychiatrist to taper off the medication. (I was put on it by my primary care physician and my psychiatrist said she would NEVER put anyone on this particular medication.
The tapering off schedule was alternating 150mg & 75 mg for 1 week; 75 mg for the 2nd week; alternating 75 and 37.5 for the third week; 37.5 only for the 4th week; alternating 37.5 & nothing for the 5th week and then nothing.
Even with this, withdrawal symptoms were brutal. And, I had to stick at alternating 37.5 & nothing for an additional week. Now, I still have zaps in my ears. I am frightened that it's permanent damage.
