Kenalog Flare Ups, Cause Osteoporosis, Topical Medication, Supposedly, Eczema

I have been revceiving injections in my right buttocks for eczema the past 1.5 years (every 6 weeks). Since I started this, my menstrual cycle has been irregular. It would come for 1 week, stop for 1 week, then come back for 2 weeks. For the past week and a half, I've had this pain in my leg. It definitely isn't muscle, but more bone pain. I told my primary doctor that I haven't changed anything in my lifestyle. But I did tell her about the injections and she was shocked that I've been getting them for such a long time. Supposedly it can cause osteoporosis over a long period of time, along with the hormonal changes. My doctor advised me to stop with the injections and prescribed another topical medication. Hopefully my flare ups can live without the injections. How is everyone else coping?

Lea Evans - I am having a KENALOG40 FLARE, and it was caused by Acupuncture. My B/P went so high, and the doctor told me that I was at a severe risk of having a stroke or a Pulmonary Embolism. The doctor kept me until my B/P dropped, and warned me that if this should happen again to go to the ER. Today, I am better; however, I have pain at the injection site, and my hip is painful as well. It has been 10 months since the toxic injection. Have any of you seen the news on the outbreak of Fungal Meniningitis from Steroid injections...it is on the news every hour? Take care dear friends

Corticosteroid Sufferer - The meningitis outbreak caused by tainted corticosteroid injections is a tragedy. To date (Oct. 8, 2012), 105 sick, 8 dead, and as many as 13,000 people received steroid shots suspected in the outbreak. News coverage is focusing on the need for more stringent regulation of compounding pharmacies, but it's imperative that there's more oversight of the corticosteroid injecting industry in general. It's an incredibly lucrative, booming business these days, with many doctors often injecting steroids irresponsibly - telling patients that these potentially dangerous injections are "low risk" and "safe," not cautioning patients about potentially disastrous side effects, later not recognizing adverse reactions, and indiscriminately administering steroids for a wide range of ailments and pain issues. Doctors are even ignoring warnings that certain steroids are not to be injected into the epidural space. The irresponsible administration of these high risk medications has got to stop.

Corticosteroid Sufferer - @Lea Evans, I had a number of epidural injections with Kenalog Dec. 2011 - Jan. 2012 that resulted in side effects too numerous to list. In response to your having had a flare-up caused by acupuncture, the same happened to me a few months ago. Both acupuncture and on a separate occasion, deep tissue massage caused massive flare-ups of symptoms (namely pain all over). Any exercise also causes mild flare-ups. I wonder if the acupuncture and massage caused steroid remaining in the body to go systemic . . .? Although most doctors incorrectly claim that the steroid is well out of our bodies a few weeks after injections, surgeons report having seen the steroid particulate 2 years after injections.

Sb - I have stopped the injections since the incident with the leg pain. My menstrual cycle is regular and I do not have any odd pains. I hope you all find some pain relief other than this steroid.
