Levaquin Anaphylactic Shock, Drop in Blood Pressure, Allergic Reaction, Drastic Drop, Seizure
Posted over a year ago
Anaphylactic Shock- My mother was given an IV prior to surgery and after receiving only 1/20th of prescribed amount had a very severe allergic reaction, felt dizzy, passed out, had a seizure, turned brilliant red, drastic drop in blood pressure, she could have died. (Surgery is being postponed, but she will be in I.C.U. for a while)
Lillianbrutsman - I took one 500mg pill of levaquin and had a sever anaphylactic shock. Was in the hospital within one hour of taking the pill. never had an allergic reaction before. Throat was almost shut in that one hour. Face was very swollen. took 4 hours in emergency to get the swelling down enough to release me from the hospital.
Amandakaye85 - I took a 500mg pill of levaquin and went into anaphylatic shock about 30-40min of taking it. The doctors had to get me from my car in the hospital parking lot..I had my two small children with me . My throat closed and full body swelling and rash. They gave me two epi shots in the shoulder within an hour. Spent hours in the ER and the next few days in the ICU. The doctors removed the levaquin from my car and the nurses did a great job with my children till my family could show up. I was 22 at the time. I've also never been allergic to anything before then. Very very scary.
