Do I Really Need Levoxyl?
My doctor put me on Levoxyl about 7 years ago because my TSH was around 5.9. I've been on 75mcg for all of that time and my TSH has been around 2.75 - 3.4. I felt OK but not good. I was tired all the time, low libido, etc. I recently raised the dose to 100mcg for one month, and TSH tested at .09, but I was having palpitations all the time. I dropped the dose to 88mcg and it's been about 4 weeks and I'm still having problems with palpitations, anxiety, trouble sleeping, achiness (especially in the morning), earache, and just a general feeling of ill health that's starting to depress me. Are these side effects of levoxyl? Do I even need to be taking this stuff if my TSH is under 6 without it? ... more »
