I am currently taking 125 mg of levothyroxine and I am SO tired ALL the time. I'll get a decent night of sleep and do okay until about mid morning> I will then start to feel like I could go nap, even at work. I get home after a 8 hour job and about 1-2 hours at home I'll sleep till almost bedtime. I feel like I have NO LIFE. Could you tell me if this is normal for this medication or could there be something else going on?
Sweetcaroline - I am supposed to take .50 Levoxyl daily, but it has ruined my life. Severe fatigue, intense irritable bowel symptoms, weakness, brain fog, etc. I tried lowering the dosage to .25, and still had the same symptoms. I tried taking the Levoxyl at night with a Librax (for IBS), hoping that the fatigue would be going on when I was sleeping (who cares then) and that I finally would wake up rested. Wrong! One day I just did not take the pill at all, and I felt wonderful all day. None of the ugly symptoms at all. I also tried Armour natural thyroid and had almost the same reaction. Same thing with Synthroid. I plan to try acupuncture, and see a naturapath. I think some people simply cannot take thyroid replacement pills, and I am definitely one of them.
