I have been taking Lipitor, 80 mgs. a day for several years. In the past few months, I have been extremely depressed and anxious. This is new for me. I am normally very positive, happy, energetic and upbeat. Now, I am not sleeping, I am not eating, my anxiety causes me to quiver like a leaf. Can anyone give me there ideas? Please respond to my e-mail address.
Hasina - cholesterol is necessary for the function of serotonin receptors in the brain. serotonin is feel-good chemical that protect us from depression, low level of cholesterol is linked to depression and anxiety ,you may know most of our body is made up of cholesterol, and cholesterol is playing an important role in our body . low cholesterol is damage steroid hormone which is cause low libido, adrenal hormone, the more you are taking this poison the greater damaging your system lowering cholesterol is possible with natural alternative rather than drug but without side effect ,my father is victim of lipitor and he is quit more than 2 years he is managing his cholesterol through his diet and some herbs that are very potent to lower cholesterol but he hasn't recover from side effect yet ,he was on drug for 8 years 10mg .
Oldcarpetcleaner - Sleep and mental disorder including depression, perception problems and anger are official notified known adverse effects of statins and fibrates. A warning bulletin of these was posted by MEDSAFE NZ's = of FDA in 2006.
Check all the other known side effects, it is highly likely that you have some without you actually realising. Tired, energy, sexual, more visits to toilet with less volume and pressure, hair thinning, itching, short of breath, confused thinking and speech, bigger breasts (men), sore joints, sore muscles, cramps, ringing in ears, loss of vision. statins are a wonderful medicine - if you want to poison yourself.
