Cause Other Problems
I have been taking Lipitor for over 15 years, since that time I have gotten MS, under active thyroid and weight gain, can this all be from taking Lipitor?
Bobby - Stains like Lipitor have been implicated in mimicking or triggering neurological diseases such as MS, ALS, GBS,... and the list goes on. Cholesterol plays a vital role in neurological function. The myelin sheath that protects our nerves is partly made of cholesterol. The human brain is the one organ most dependent on cholesterol to function properly. Despite all those industry sponsored studies showing a relationship between cholesterol levels and developing heart disease, no such proof exists in the real world. Looking at graphs of death rates from heart disease over the last 40 years clearly shows no impact on the decline rate of deaths from CAD after statins were introduced in 1987. They didn't even put a dent in the graph line. Hate to say it, but statins are a dud.
