Lisinopril Lisinoprol, H Pylori, Dr Doom, Bp Daily, Dutch Studies

wow I'm glad I found this site. I went in for a checkup and the Dr said I have High BP. He did a few tests and I came back a week later. I was checking my BP daily and got it down a bit just with a little modification in diet and exercise. Oddly (or not so oddly) my BP is always higher when he checks it...something I am sure has to do with his Dr. Doom bedside manner. Anyway he prescribes Lisinopril and l started off. A few days later I had the wildest allergic reaction. I broke out in hives all over my body; my throat was closing off,heart beat Seriously racing and I started hallucinating. I *thought* that it was a reaction to something I'd eaten; like maybe one of the shrimp was bad.
I was also taking some antibiotics for an h-pylori (nasty stuff that) infection.
I stopped everything for a couple days. When I went back on the Lisinopril I developed the hacking cough and while it lowers my BP it raises my heartbeat by around 20 bpm. Next I got chest pains and shortness of breath. I just read some Dutch studies linking Lisinopril to hallucinations and everything else I am experiencing is like what people posting here have said. Oh yeah; I'm part African-American which may also have an impact. All in all.. I'm staying off this crap. I forgot the golden rule of doctors; they may be decent mechanics but this car belongs to me.
