Lisinopril Heart Palpitations, Coronary Heart, Arrhythmia, Having a Heart Attack, Heart Attack
I'm 34, 170 lbs and have been exercising my entire life. I was prescribed Lisinopril (5mg) in May 2009 for a slightly high BP (132/82). I took the drug for ~ 10 days and stopped due to fatigue and slight shortness of breath. A little over a month ago, my uncle suddenly died from a coronary heart attack. After that, I started taking the Lisinopril again, forgetting about the previous side effects. I started the drug ~ Apr 5th 2010. My wife called 911 at midnight on Apr 26th b/c I thought I was having a heart attack. According to the ER doc, it was heart palpitations. I was a consumer of caffeine, alcohol and nicotine prior to the episode and my regular doctor admitted those could be contributors to an arrhythmia. The next few days, I started noticing I was very fatigued (going to get the paper and breathing hard when I got back). I was running ~ 4 miles, 4 days a week prior to my ER episode, so this just doesn't make sense. I have been off of Lisinopril for 7 days now and have had a few episodes (including last night) with palpitations, particularly at night. How long does it take for the side effects you guys have had to go away completely? ... more »
