I've inherited severe hypertension. I began taking lisinopril 40mg in 2007. Before beginning this therapy my erections were strong enough for penetration in any sexual position. Currently my erections aren't strong enough for any sexual position. What's more is that I've also experienced periodic crohn's disease like symptoms since beginning this therapy, i.e. painful peristalsis, sweating and vertigo while defecating. I discontinued lisinopril on May 21, 2010 and haven’t experienced such symptoms since. I know a couple of friends who stopped taking lisinopril because it made them cough something terrible. Another one of my friends stopped taking lisinopril because she experienced stomach/intestinal distress to the point that she was rushed to the ER. Since discontinuing lisinopril she has not experienced such symptoms.
