Loestrin 24 Fe Junel Fe, Aveno, Ear Drops, Losing My Mind, Dry Skin

I would never recommend this to anyone. For 6 months I was on Junel FE 1/20, which was perfect, with no side affects what so ever. I changed my birth control to loestrin 24 FE, 3 weeks ago and I feel like I’m losing my mind. The first side effect that happened was extremely red dry skin on my face, which didn’t seem like a big deal at the begging, nothing moisturizer couldn’t fix. So I decided to stick it out, then my eyes started to become extremely irritated, I have trouble putting on my contacts and when I do I can only keep them on for a few hours before it becomes unbearable. My eyes become so irrigated it looks like I’ve been crying for hours. Now recently I have an ear infection, that doesn’t seem to want to go away. I have been prescribed eye drops, ear drops and purchased aveno for the dry skin. This has to be the worst experience I’ve had with birth control. The worst part it I have to wait to get off of it until I finish all the pills, according to my doctor. So I have two more weeks of hell left, if I would have known the side effects I would have never started it, I would never recommend it to anyone, it’s not worth it.

Vikki8 - Hi, within days of starting Loestrin24Fe, I was experiencing extreme fatigue and by the 6th day, I was debilitatingly fatigued. I also noticed that my eyes were kind of affected... it's hard to explain, but I know they were not 'normal'. On top of the overwhelming and debilitating fatigue, I was depressed and 'negative' in spirit. WHY did your Doctor tell you that you HAD to finish the pack of pills?? I decided today (day 8) to just quit taking them. Also I started spotting last nite, and feel almost like I am having my period, not just spotting. Any of your feedback would be most appreciated.

Drstiles - I did the exact opposite of you. I was on Loestrin 24 and was LOVING it, but when I got switched to Junel, I IMMEDIATELY started getting moody. The first week, I went off on my boyfriend. He's been great in dealing with me, now it's time to get myself better!

My wife was on Junel for the 2 years and on Sept. 16, 2011 I found her on the floor not breathing. I called 911 and make a long story short, she had a pulminary ambolism and died instantly (a blood clot moved from her leg to her lungs). She was 34. She had our son back in February of this year and was trying to lose the weight she'd gained from the pregnancy. We're all scratching our heads trying to figure out why and what happened. Her mom and sisters take the factor 5 blood test to see if it's a genetic thing and they all come back negative. I hear about the lawsuit against Yas, and decide to investigate the side affects of Junel. Pulminary ambolism is number 2 on the list. And your risk is increased if you are overweight, or smoke (which she didn't) as well as a few others. Bottom line is there are side affects, so what ever you are taking make sure you investigate the risks first. I now have to raise an 8 month old son alone. We are not 100% sure that it was the birth control that did it but it's looking that way.
