About 5 years ago, an OBGYN gave me Lupron injections for two 6 month rounds. I was 45 years old at the time and my urologist had found via a catscan what looked like an overy in me. Unfortunately, at the age of 30, I had a total and radical hysterectomy thus ruling out any ovaries. I was attending this urologist at the time because my right kidney was swollen and not emptying it's contents. Come to find out, Endomitriosis had strangulated my right ureter leading to the right kidney. It's now dead, the right kidney. I never had high cholesterol before the administration of the Lupron. To this day, I have slightly over 200+ cholesterol level. The Lupron not only did not work in my case, but it caused high blood pressure that has never gone back to normal. I recall on the paper that accompanies the Lupron shot saying that Lupron does cause high cholesterol and it also went on to say that it was not known if this particular side effect would reverse after stopping this drug. It has not reversed. Since, I had to attend SHANDS MEDICAL CENTER of Gainseville, Florida. There, I found a wonderful GYN who put me on Femara, an oral pill treatment for breast cancer, and my endomitriosis has stopped growing. I am also on a daily dose of 10 mgs. of Norethindrone to help me. The Femara worked and I was on one pill orally for one year. Anyone else experience high blood pressure that never went away years later?
God bless you all. D.
