I was told 3 years ago that I need to have a hysterectomy but due to my fear of menopause and only being 36 I turned down the sugery.
I have suffered with endo since I was 19 and at the last laparascopy the doctor said I also have adenomyosis (excuse all spelling). Neither one of these issues is life threatening just extremely uncomfortable.
A few months ago I started to have pain in my lower right side and it would only happen during menses. Now 39, I have decided that I am tired of the irritation, muscle aches, mood swings, and pain associated with my period.
I also have been diagnosed with PMDD many many years ago. I am on the first set of a three month shot and I am going to tell you what...I FEEL GREAT!!! Mentally I feel more refreshed than I have in so many years. I am still spotting but who cares. I get a little heated but it passes. I have a harder time holding back tears at a sad situation, but WHO CARES!! When a week before your period you are probably considered certifiable this is the greatest thing ever.
The doctor said this is a more conservative way of finding out if I actually need a hysterectomy (different doc). She said if you actually have no pain...Note: no pain at all...Then we know the hysterectomy will be the right choice. Now to tell her to take those ovaries with her because I don't want them!
