I've always had good skin. I developed itchy, burning inflamed skin on my forearms and lower legs after the Magnevist injection. It's been several years now and the pain from the above areas bothers me constantly. My gums also started receding, and I never had a problem with them before. I don't have renal problems as far as I know and lab tests in the past have never shown a problem, but I am hypersensitive to many metals and have purple gums where there is contact. The hospital that did the MRI said they have no record of of what was used, nor the dose, because the technician did not record anything, and she is no longer with them. No doctor was present. Doesn't a doctor prescribe the dose? Shouldn't that be a requirement? The technician was responsible for determining the size of the dose, and I wonder I good she was at calculating. The injection was given halfway through the MRI and it was a total surprise and she told me unless I had the injection the MRI would be no good. I learned later that is untrue, that the contrast is not necessary, and that the MRI was unnecessary because what I was suffering from was a reaction to latex causing a rash where my dentist had touched my face with latex gloves and paralysis to my face from the swelling. The hospital said there is a sticker on the film that says Magnevist that she put on, but no record if that is what she used. I want to know if there have been any cases of NSF or NSD in people with normal kidney's and liver? I am allergic to latex, and read that the syringes contain latex rubber. I got very ill that night. Perhaps that is what some people are reacting to. Not everyone knows that latex is rubber or that they are sensitive to latex rubber.
