Wrongly Given a Depo Medrol Injection, How Long Before It's Out of the D

I was given a wrong shot of intramuscular Depo Medrol 80mg/1ml due to misdiagnosis. Since this is a long lasting medication, I want to find out if anyone knows for sure how long it will take before it leaves the system. I heard that a single shot can last 28 days in the body from one source, and 3 months from another. Anyone know? Also, do you know of any safe foods or meds thT can speed up this process? Thank you for your time replying and helping! I'm desperately trying to ride out the horrendous side effects :(

Beware Depo-medrol - I'm still suffering from the horrible side effects of just one depo-medrol trigger point injection (20 mg) administered 6 months ago. Mainly, terrible nerve pain and fatigue persist. Other side effects including hair loss, insomnia, menstrual irregularities have essentially resolved. I've done lots of research and consulted with many doctors about this reaction. Sadly, there seem to be no answers about how long it takes to recover, probably because the workings of corticosteroids - both good and bad - are not fully understood and everyone reacts differently to these potent medications. I think I'm on the mend, but very slowly. It seems that corticosteroids are now booming business and generally administered by most doctors in the most cavalier, irresponsible way.

Beware Depo-medrol - By the way, I was also given an intramuscular injection (the trigger point injection) due to a misdiagnosis. Whatever happened to doctors observing "first do no harm"??!

Poisonedbydoctors - Wow, I'm sorry to hear of your plight and to find out there are others like me who have been injured this way. You're right about doctors' cavalier attitude to dispensing drugs these days, seems they've zero concern with its safety. I asked the doc if they were any side effects to this and he said there is none. Well 11 months on I beg to differ! Still get the hair loss, insomnia, and blood sugar irregularities, fatigue and muscular weakness. When does it ever end? This whole experience has made me mistrust medicine and doctors. I've got a cold and doc is giving me antibiotics even when he can't tell me whether it's bacterial or viral in nature. I'll be keeping my $$ and going to a naturopath to get another opinion.
