I have had heart palpitations, Tachycardia (heart rate over 100), chest pain, shortness of breath, irritability, low back pain, muscle aches, depression, and nausea. I have had the mirena in for 2 years and didn't realize it was the Mirena until recently. I went to the ER one night after getting out of bed to experience dizziness, numbness in face and arms, and tingling hands and feet. They told me nothing was wrong with me. They prescribed me an anxiety medication and then a medication to slow my heart rate. They are not working. I just hope all this goes away once I have the Mirena removed.
Csd - I had mine removed last week after two and a half years of hell. The worst side effects were three Grand Mal seizures- terrifying for my husband and children to witness.I started feeeling " normal" again within 24 hous of it's removal and no longer have numbness and tingling down my left hand side.I would urge any women suffering problems to get it taken out imediately or you may find yourself having fits like I did.
Jessysnipsnip - i just had my primary dr. do silicone level testing in my blood work. it came out very very high in my blood. i urge everyone to get tested only because silicone takes years to get out of the body sometimes permanent. i am post mirena two weeks and i did test four days ago and it came out to be .39
(the normal amount in a person should be .05).(anything over .10 is abnormal)
so drs lied to us when they said mirena does not enter our blood stream. and that is why our symptoms take time to go away. but there not as bad as when we had the mirena in. Silicone is deadly at any level. please get tested even if you had mirena out for long time. silicone does not clear over months or years.
that right there is proof it is extremly harmful
also google side effects to silicone and they are very similar to what we had.

Laceyjo - I have also had these exact symptoms. I have had my Mirena in since March this year. My feet actually go numb and turn white, my heart rate gets as high as 135bpm and i have bouts of angina and anxiety as well. When my heart rate gets that high, my heart skips a beat every 6-8 times it beats. SCARY!!

Hatty - I have had my Mirena in for about 2 and half years and for the last 12 to 18 months my heart jumps every now and them and leaves me breathless, I didnt do anything about it as it only happened every now and then but 2 months ago I had a bad attack and had to get the ambulance my heart was jumping out of my chest and racing, I have been to cardiologist had ecg and eco and all clear but my resting bpm is 85 still, they have put it down to anxiety so now im on antidrpressants and atavan but its still high. after reading these forums I have an appointment with my gyno, even tho he has already told me over the phone it can not be it! i have polycystic ovaries so I need to be on something i just dont no what! cindy
Kayla13 - I have spent soo much money on doctors and emergency room visits..I have had my mirena in for about 10 months now..in the begining I had severe chest pain..went to the er had cat scans which all came back normal..got diagnosed for muscolsketeal pain..when my chest pain didn't go away and I started having heart palpatations I got and echo done of my heart which was normal..now I have a swollen lymph node in my neck got that checked and the said it was nothing to worry about..after reading all the posts about mirena I'm getting it removed ASAP and hope all these symptoms go away!!
