I had my Mirena inserted April 29, 2010. I am 52 and was having long, flooding periods and had had enough of that. I have been spotting ever since it was inserted. I have had one 2 day period since. A cyst was found on my ovary fwhen the ultrasound was done to make sure the Mirena was inserted property. They told me the cyst would dissolve and it did. I had cramps in the beginning but they have disappeared. The heavy period has disappeared. I'd rather wear a pantyliner than be flooding out with my period every three weeks. I do experience some of the other symptoms listed here but I did anyway with peri-menopause.
